What's on your Wednesday Menu, Old Friends?
G'morning all!
Welcome back QJB! So many exciting things happening for you. Very glad you are out of that toxic job and starting your MBA program. I love school so when I hear people going back to school I am always happy for them.
Today I am the tour guide for a couple who has arrived from Italy. She is the office manager at my brother's practice. They got married the summer of 2020 but postponed their honeymoon till now. They are doing the typical LA, Disney, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas route. Their last stop is San Francisco and that's where I come in; taking them around, showing them the highlights, etc. It's so funny that people that are from outside US don't realize how big CA is. While she was in LA she asked me if they could "stop by"! When she realized it's about 5 hours of drive she changed her mind. Even the distance between SF and where I live is not a bus ride the way it would be in Europe. Today I'll get all my steps in by walking up and down in SF.
QOTD: not much going on. Empty nesters, just got back from a nice vacation with kids, Sat is our 28th anniversary and we will be tackling another peak (15 miles hike), my passport was sent by mail for renewal and I'm a nervous wreck about it. That just about sums up the highlights. =)
Accountability: you know some people pour a glass of wine when they are stressed? That's a very adult reaction. I guess I'm no adult because I eat chocolate when I'm stressed. I had a stressful situation yesterday afternoon and ended up with 5 Rolos and 4 squares of the sf almond chocolate from TJ.
My meals yesterday :
- Coffee
- TJ chicken fajitas
- Chomp stick, protein puffs + see accountability
- Hb eggs + tuna pouch
- E: cardio + weight
Happy hump day!

Good morning ~ QJB! Welcome home!! So happy to hear you are unemployed and going for what your want!! Congrats!!! WFH home today - sinus issues have taken over my life... but I have so much work to take care of that I will put in some time today. I played with my new egg cooker (thank you Marie) and made the best egg bites ever! Better than Starbucks, Costco (my fav) and any others I've made in the oven or air fryer. Total soft sous vide texture. Yum. I made some last night to take to work today. Hopefully they are just as good reheated - finger crossed. l haven't tried making the poached eggs yet which is the reason I bought this thing, but that will happen soon.
QOTD - Same-same here for the most part. We are doing well. Looking forward to the OH conference to finally meet many of you!
Accountability - leftover pizza
b- coffee and my reheated egg bites
l - eggplant casserole
d- baked chicken and simple side salad
e - sinus says no
Have a great day!

Hiiiiii! What is this magical egg cooker? I make fake sous vide ones in the air fryer all the time but they aren't great, just easy, so I've put up with them being just okay but I am all for a better option!

Good morning and hello Julia!
I was spot on again yesterday with food and cals. I even stayed up really late last night and realized when I was going to bed that I hadn't had to fight the pantry calling my name while I sat in the dark an watched three episodes of Hacks. Grateful for that. Today breakfast and lunch will be easy, and dinner is still up in the air. I've got a lunch date with my girlfriend that I am going to walk to and then maybe stroll around the little village after to add a few more steps. Nothing much exciting going on then that.
QoTD: I retired! I went to Europe. I've spent extra time with my grand girls and I've read a library's worth of books. Now I am getting bored and starting to think about what I want to do next. Currently finalizing plans to road trip with the RV to wine country with friends in October.
Menu:
B: fried egg and leftover baked beans. Weird, but I bet delicious. I mean the beans have bacon in them and there is just abot 3 bites left!
L: shared chicken fajita plate, beans, no rice, tortilla OR chips!!
D: Fish if my friend brings some, or I'll throw together a low carb meatloaf, salad and fries for the guys
Peace Everybody!

I really like Hacks....Jean Smart is such a likeable and hateable character. Good chemistry between the two main actors.
