I did it! Yesterday was my last day at work! I have been so excited to finish up for so many reasons, but not least because I really miss my routine of posting here every day. You guys have kept me straight for a long time and it sucks to have to give up a routine that I know contributes to success. I'm so happy to be "home" ;)

My plan (in case you missed it) is to start my MBA program in a few weeks. I will do a one year full time accelerated program and hopefully in about exactly a year, I will be announcing here that I have graduated! :) And in my spare time I am trying to ramp up my cookie decorating side-hustle into a more legit business without gaining a million pounds. In fact it would be nice to lose a few, if the gods are generous.

Since I will no longer have a commute or morning schedule, I won't commit to starting the post early every day (no more reasons to be up at 4am - whoo!), but when I can start it, I will. You know me, I am always up early and I have a curious mind so I never run out of QOTDs ;)

QOTD: So, whatcha been up to, gang? I tried to read the thread quickly when I could grab a minute here and there, but I have definitely missed a lot. Catch me up. What's new? Well, you have my big update! I'm a 48 year old unemployed, co-ed now! Whooo! I just had my 7 year surgiversary, so that means Grim and I met here just about 7 years ago! We are happily raising our two silly kitties together and loving life. We have been taking lots of fun classes together including blacksmithing, more spoon carving, and basket weaving. We're having a blast learning all the fun creative things. I am looking forward to a really awesome year together when I can be home a lot more.

----------

B: Fit Frappe Mocha (it is finallyyyyyyy back on the shelves after 2 years!) & 2 scrambled eggs

L: not sure - going to visit my mentor at her home today. She is a health nut, so probably veggies and wine, lol.

D: The insides of my leftover celebratory fish tacos from last night's "I quit my job!" dinner!

Exercise: I am so happy to start up a fresh new routine with the time to do it right. Today will be a nice long walk/jog on the treadmill.

Good morning,

Well congratulations on all the things! It seems you have a lot to celebrate. And welcome back! I'm a newbie so don't have much history here yet. Also...yay blacksmithing! Sounds like some interesting classes.

QOTD - Mostly keeping up with work, the house, and the dogs while learning to use my new tool. I'm about to be six whole weeks post-op. Woo!

Today is another work from home day. I might brew some more tea. It's interesting that I used to drink a pot a day but now I'm lucky to manage a cup of decaf. Have some outdoor stuff I want to try and get to this evening after the heat kicks back. Maintenance stuff and checking the upper pasture. I'm looking forward to winter when I can get more done without bugs and worrying about copperheads.

I'm aiming for an exercise schedule of two days on, one day off. While at the office yesterday I did some laps around the halls on my lunch break to take a walk in addition to the morning elliptical. It was nice to be moving and reminds me of the positive effects of working out. Exercise is going well for where I'm at. Hoping to be at the recommended five days a week soon but energy level still aren't where I'd like them to be. Work in progress!

Menu

Breakfast- planted protein with fiber

Lunch - modified egg roll in a bowl...I am loving this recipe. And the cabbage. It means that I have lunch and second lunch, hobbit-style

Dinner - ricotta bake with extra protein powder

Snack- light tuna or maybe cottage cheese

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Congrats on 6 weeks! I remember it like it was yesterday :)

Blacksmithing was very cool. We did it like they did in the 1800s so we were basically standing in a fireplace and pulling the bellows to get air. It was more effective than hot yoga for sweating out the toxins, haha.

You probably already have, but would you mind sharing the modified egg roll recipe? Sounds intriguing!

That sounds amazing! And very manual. I'm always amused when my doctor tells me that manual labor doesn't count as exercise. I heartily disagree. I saw some forging like that on Forged in Fire. Looks like a great workout!

Sure, happy to share. Modified is mostly because my menu is still limited in phase 3. I started with this recipe: https://40aprons.com/whole30-egg-roll-bowl-paleo/

Subbed Butterball turkey breakfast sausage roll for the pork, left out all vegetables but the cabbage, cut the oil in half instead of omitting because mmm, sesame flavor, doubled the chili paste, used Bragg aminos, and skipped the garnish and sauce. I guess it's more like super flavorful sausage and cabbage but to my limited palate, it's delicious!

Welcome back! I am very glad to see you here!

Quick post for me; I have to go into the office today and I didn't plan ahead to like actually pack my laptop or anything useful like that. I'll squeeze my workout in after work, not sure if it will be elliptical or boxing but one of them!

QOTD - uneventful summer for the most part, some visits with friends here, one trip to Vegas a couple work trips, a bout with covid that kept me home for way too long but outside of that all is the same!

I think the menu today will be:

coffee plus half and half X2

cold brew skyr

veggie egg rolls I can heat up at work

bunless burger with cheese and pickles

maybe a frozen L&F

Have a terrific Wednesday everyone! The weekend is just starting to peer around the corner:-)

How are you doing the boxing? Do you take classes or do something at home? I just saw signs for a new place near my old work that is doing boxing classes for women. Not sure if it is a chain company or not but I thought it was interesting. I could get down with learning to punch people more effectively!

Is it 9 rounds? I've belonged to them a few times. Currently I do it through an on line app in my basement. Great workout

Welcome back! Congratulations on beginning a new chapter in your life. I usually only post once or twice a week. I start work at 7 am and unlike you I don't get up until the last possible second and then fly out the door forgetting everything I wanted to take with me.

QOTD. Best highlight of the summer was our girls week at the beach. It can be scary as we are all in our 60 and 70s. We did go fishing one day and I caught the biggest one, a 3 foot shark. The rest were catfish. Yuk. I have been struggling with my autoimmune flare ups, which are what are responsible for having to spend so much time going to various doctors... It is always something. Excercise consists of going to physical therapy for my drop foot, they do work out the full body though. This keeps up and I may have to get something like an elliptical, because I keep tripping over my foot.

Menu. Protein shake, sausage, peppers and onions. Pulled pork.

off to yet another doctors appointment on my day off.

Good morning all and Happy Humpty Hump Day,

Good to see you QJB and excited for you to start back at school.

I took a swab test to see what medications I'm compatible with. Got the results and most anxiety and depression meds aren't effective. I just got switched to new medication and I'm hopeful it will help.

QOTD - I've been trying to live in the moment and do more activities to enjoy the summer. Trying to figure out my next step in life.

Accountability - I am going to a good bakery tonight, Bang Bang Pie, to pick up a mystery bag. I am going to choose one thing out of the mystery bag and I'll give away the rest. It is through an app called Too Good To Go that aims as a way to to prevent food waste.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Cherry Yogurt, Tangerine. TJ Cold Brew Coffee, sf vanilla, stevia.

L: Cilantro Lime Shrimp.

D: Chicken Salad.

S: Mystery Bakery Deliciousness.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.
