What's on your Tuesday menu?

Good morning everyone! We made it through Monday, yay us!

There is a lot going on around here these days, so busy! Full day of meetings plus I get my Invisalign after work and after that I have a workout with my trainer, so full Tuesday for sure.

QOTD - we had visible snow at Pikes Peak yesterday (for a few minutes at least) - if it snows in your area, what's the earliest and latest you've had snow? When I was a kid was had about an inch the last week of August and a few years ago had a close the schools level of snow on May 21. Typically we will get some snow that melts pretty quickly in Sept, Oct, with a bit more in Nov and Dec but winter cold really starts here in January which tends to be our coldest month and March tends to be our snowiest.

Menu today is

coffee plus half and half x 2

greek yogurt with roasted figs

smoked cheddar cheese with some gf crackers

tbd on dinner, depends on the dentist; I could make tacos but not sure I will want to eat after all that.

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning!

Will be interested to hear how Invisalign goes. I've thought about it several times.

QOTD- I really don't remember. Grew up around Syracuse, so we always had the lake effect snow. I remember one green Xmas. The weather has been so anomalous lately it kind of all blends together, sadly. And I don't have the best memory.

Today is another office day and I'm getting ready to head in. The drive is about 75 minutes each way so I've been thinking through ways to maximize the time.

The hair loss seemed especially prevalent in the shower this morning. I've been taking biotin since May so hoping to minimize the effects. I'm in the camp of having super fine hair so the loss shows!

Menu

Planted protein post elliptical this morning

2 ounces of rolled turkey with 2 slices of provolone

Ricotta bake with added protein - will see how that goes

A packet of chunk light tuna with a tablespoon of light miracle whip

Low fat cottage cheese

Cheers everyone!

Biotin is a interesting supplement and the studies have been all over the map; it's proven to be beneficial for skin and nails and have little to no impact on TE hair loss (and can throw off your TSH level in your blood test if you are over supplementing). Fortunately, TE usually passes within 6 months from it's start, depending on your hair growth cycle.

Good to know, thanks! Maybe it's my clinic in a ploy to make more money. You know...I wouldn't knock better skin and nails!

Sorry about the noticeable hair loss. I remember that happening but it was explained to me that it means new hair is coming in. I did have small little frizzy new growth shortly after so just maybe you'll start seeing new hair.

I started taking collagen powder for the hair loss. I still use it in my morning greek yogurt (mixes right in). I like to think that it does help.

The hair phase is tough, but it does come back.

I use my commute to listen to audiobooks or podcasts - the commute flies by now I even look forward to that time.

I got my egg cooker!

Mornin' All!

I have a bone scan later this morning, so I may bike over there. I don't worry as much about food if I'm getting an hour or more of cardio in - I'm less likely to stray since I'm out of the house during that time and not near the fridge - plus if I do eat something unplanned (depending on what it is, of course...), I've usually burned it off. Depending on the results of this scan, I'll either continue with annual reclast infusions for the next three years (I just had a year long "holiday" from it), or move on to a stronger drug. I may not find out until I meet with my endocrinologist in a couple of weeks, though...

QOTD: we usually get our first snow in late October, but it rarely sticks. Winter weather is generally semi-OK around here until January. It's kind of rare to get a big snow before then. People talk about there being snow on Mother's Day, but I've been here 35 years and the latest I've ever seen snow that I can remember is early April - and it usually doesn't stick when it's that late. I think that Mother's Day snow they talk about was some fluke-y thing that happened years ago when the winters were colder. People ***** about the snow around here, but it's really nothing compared to what we used to get when I lived in northern Ohio. We're on the wrong side of the lakes for that (or the right side, depending on your perspective...). Plus the fact that winters tend to be warmer now, too.

B: protein oatmeal topped with plain skyr and cooked apples. Coffee with half & half

MS: probably nothing since I'll be at the health clinic (plus these oatmeal breakfasts hold me over for quite awhile)

L: protein muffin, L&F yogurt with raspberries

AS: protein shake

D: that salad again (power greens, chicken breast, diced peach, light dressing)

have a great day, everyone!
