What's on your Tuesday menu?

I never had Mexican food growing up. We ate Iri****alian, Polish, Greek and German from various neighbors. I think the first Mexican food I had was Taco Bell in the 1980's when I was in my 30's. Other than tacos I made at home, I remember eating something in California that was meat inside of a corn husk. I don't really like cilantro, beans, or hot, spicy foods and they are not nice to me. If I find myself in a Mexican restaurant, I try to order something like chicken and hope it is not too heavily seasoned for me.

Somehow I read this and thought...pierogi! It's been so long since good pierogi.

Hey there,

Sorry your medication is working. I hope they're able to find something to help. Congrats on your weight loss - that's amazing!

QOTD - that order-in dish I got when in Mexico for work. Not sure what it was but it had meat, seafood, grilled cactus and onions and several sauces. Other than that, probably street tacos with liberal amounts of onion, cilantro, lime, and radishes.

So. I ate food not cooked by me yesterday and did not fall apart. Big victory. So much so that I did it again today even though I have my nicely packed lunch and bonus food for backup. I mean...it's another chicken breast with caramelized onions and mushrooms. So totally allowable. And I again have leftovers to take home. They do add up.

Got to thinking about it again between meetings today. Another bonus for what I've already lost is that my shoes fit better. They're leather Sketchers. I have high arches so they press the tops of my feet...but they're not as tight now. So excited! Especially since we're doing a team event this afternoon that includes a scavenger hunt. And ice cream. Fortunately I don't crave sweets, so easy to skip that part.

Menu

Morning: Planted protein plus fiber, egg with a piece of sausage

Lunch: the thinner half of a chicken breast with some onions and mushrooms

Dinner: nonfat Greek yogurt

Snack: cottage cheese

Cheers everyone.

I bought cactus recently, "fried" it on the stove with added apices. Not really a fan. It was also a lot of work to prepare it (getting rid of the stickers).

I have also noticed that my shoes are much looser. In fact I can sometimes get away with a 1/2 size smaller. Who knew our feet got so fat??

Initially after major weight loss my size 10 shoes were too large. I was buying size 9.5. Now, 14+ years post op, I'm back in size 10 - sometimes size 10.5 (US)

I gained some weight (but not enough to justify that - I'm app 10-15 lbs above my personal goal), but overall my feet just "spread" length wise. I have bunions, so may be that's why. Also, one foot is longer than the other, so getting the 10.5 accommodates that. Getting measured for proper shoes (in a good walking/running store) really helped me.

I had to get new shoes! I lost a size in my feet .... It was expensive, but I am not buying anything that is not necessary.
