Happy Thursday - what's happening?

Good morning,
Hope your project goes well, and congrats on the loss!
QOTD - not reading anything these days. I have a Kindle and am trying to limit screen time. Watched some Forensic Files the other day.
Today is Thursday. I may have called the triage dietician yesterday to talk through my diet and see if anything might be affecting the gain I'm having. Her two points of advice were to switch to their brand of protein and to limit salt more (at about 1500 per day). Otherwise, macros, progress, and what I can eat is all normal and in line. So, yay. I'll compromise on the protein and use theirs some but I really like the brand I found. It falls within their requirements, so should be okay. Just higher in calories. I'm averaging about 850 per day. Up almost three pounds today!
And, you know, all the work things. I'm presenting this afternoon, so that's always fun. Hope you all have a great day!

Forensic Files is a staple in our house. I'm enjoying the newer ones, but miss the original narrator.

Haha I hear you! Started daily five days ago...about two days too late to prevent an issue. Took another two days to catch up. Will be taking daily until I can get in enough real fiber through diet.
I'm also taking other stuff. It could be contributing for sure. Not sure how long normalization takes but it should get there!

Another thought is returning to work may have negatively effected your cortisol levels (stress response) causing some water retention. I am curious to see if her recommendations have the desired results. I think that your weight will come down even without making any changes and staying the course. You can also try to confuse your body by taking in a few more calories for a day since it does adapt to the same calorie range over time. Keep us updated on how it goes. Best of luck.

There's something for sure going on. Fluids in don't equal fluids out and there's definitely retention. Didn't consider cortisol though, thanks! She seemed to think salt intake.
I can try increased calories this weekend. Tiny, tiny portions of them! I get that most of this is waiting it out. Ultimately, I'm only getting ~850 calories on a high day so playing the numbers game should work in the long run.
Appreciate your feedback!

Marie, the best advice I heard for these stalls is stop weighing yourself and start weighing your your food. You are doing everything right, this is going to pass. Your body won't maintain on 850 calories a day plus SADI malabsorption. In a couple of weeks you will have forgotten all about this stall and will be worrying about keeping your pants from falling off.

Haha, thanks Jim! I know you're not wrong. :) weighing food for sure...except for the two spoonfuls of yogurt the last two days. I'll get back on that!
How did your competition go??
