It was corn watermelon and burger. That is why it blew me away. I also plowed through a Falafel platter today with no consequences. YIKES

I was going to ask how you eat the figs? In my new home there is a fig tree with lots of figs on it. The only thing I know about figs is fig newtons. Do you have to cook them or eat them raw I have no idea?

Figs are delicious -- you can eat them raw, you can warm them up with the goat cheese, you can drizzle them in balsamic; you can put them with chicken, you can make jam or a sauce for pound cake or ice cream. I had a yummy fig, arugula and sausage flatbread once.

Mmm, delicious! Makes me miss the fig bush at the old house. Learned to always check for wasps!

Good morning all and Happy Thursday,

I'm having a 'poor me' attitude lately and am trying to re-frame my thinking to identify all that I'm grateful for.

Roasted chestnuts on the street reminds me of the Holiday season growing up getting a bag of warm chestnuts checking out the Christmas window displays downtown Chicago

QOTD- I haven't owned a VHS player since the early 00s. However, I was the proud owner of a VHS skateboard tape until last year. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. I sold Big Brother Skating Magazine #2 for $60 on ebay and it was the first appearance of Johnny Knoxville of Jackass.

Good luck with the mental re-framing; that's hard but if it works, it's worth it!

Good morning! I have OH conference questions!

1) Costumes, really? I am still stuck on that one. Who is and who is not considering wearing a costume?

2) The big party. I did not buy Rog a ticket to the conference thinking he would not be at all interested in the panels or events. But he does love a party. How does this work.

3) If you've been to one of these before, what did you do/enjoy during it?

I had an excellent food day yesterday. I left Trader Joe's over two hundred dollars poorer than when I got there, but I got ALL THE THINGS! So excited to have so many things to choose from in my fridge and freezer. I got enough to last us with proteins and good sides for at least two weeks. So when I do the math, $200+ vs dinners out, we are coming out way ahead.

I hope Sheila is having a wonderful time with her family. I never have wanted to go there. I don't like hot and sticky. I pick cold and snow every chance I get.

QoTD: only if they are hidden from me. Otherwise I have tossed them all.

Menu - so many choices!

B: I have some leftover shaved beef in an Asian veggie mix I put together last night with a bit of Bobby Flay style crispy rice. That sounds great for breakfast. May need to add a fried egg as it's just a tiny bit of each

L: watermelon, feta and two TJ pre cooked chicken meatballs

D: Ahhh, the real reason for the TJ trip. Making Quattro Formaggi pizzas for dinner for Rog and I. Our favorite place is closing, so I'm trying to recreate his favorite pizza. I also have pepperoni for the girls as we pick them up for an overnight play date today. I'll eat the toppings of some of the pizza and a some pieces of pepperoni on the side. Which reminds me, I need to get some garlic steeping in olive oil when I am done with this post for the base of our pizza tonight!

Peace Everybody!
