Welcome home Jim. We have missed you. It sounds like your trip was awesome.

I am heading into work late since we had an inquiry about our travel trailer. I am meeting prospect buyers at 1100. Am inconvotime related to work hours and the fact that I work about 25 minutes from home. So planning on heading to work after. Fingers crossed that we sell the trailer!

QOTD: I have never been to any of the Scandinavian countries is I can't really answer this question honestly. I would love to visit any of them for first hand knowledge.

L: summer salad with chicken and poppy seed dressing

S: protein frosty

D: chicken mixed vegetables with yogurt ranch

G'morning all!

Welcome back Jim. Cute pic of you and Marylin. You had me at champagne and Toblerone. I could live on those two for the rest of my life.

At my PCP appt yesterday I asked about my low ferretin (7), because when I pointed it out to the bariatric coordinator last month she didn't seem concerned, because my iron levels are good. This doctor also agreed so at this point I don't know what else to do. They are not referring me to anybody else and they say I'm good. I feel good and if it wasn't for people on OH that always talk about ferretin I wouldn't have even brought it up. I got a clean bill of health from both of them and a "see you next year", so off I go.

QOTD: I love Denmark and would live there. I've never been to Iceland but it's on my list. Norway and Sweden I liked but as a place to visit and not live. I have not been to Finland.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee
  • Eggwich
  • Epic chicken, Fage yogurt w/fresh blueberries, jello, hb eggs
  • Cauliflower rice + ground turkey
  • E: Rest day

Happy taco Tue!

Do you eat flavored or plain yogurt? I recently fell in love with plain - I can't even believe it myself.

I have always eaten plain Greek yogurt. Don't want the extra cals or carbs for the flavored ones. But during summer I add berries, and during winter I add a little bit of SF syrup to change the flavor if I'm not in the mood for plain. Sometimes I also add spices (pickle seasoning, garlic lemon, or whatever I get from TJ) to have it more spicy and like a dip for my chicken. The options are endless when you buy a plain one.

YES!! I use in on everything now. Chicken salad, salad dressings, dips or like sour cream on taco salad. So good!

I add ranch dressing/dip spices to make a yogurt ranch. I also have substituted oil or butter for baking with light Greek plain yogurt (I like the 2 Good brand for this due to the calories) to save calories. It works really well. To brown up a modified crust I just spray a tiny bit of cooking spray (i.e. Pam) on top before putting it in the oven.

I only use plain Greek yogurt for recipes. I do like vanilla though.

Good morning all and welcome home Jim! I'm all in for all adventures and would way rather a detour than a huge storm at sea. Been through one of those and it was horrifying and amazing all at the same time! High seas are no joke.

Not much on the morning agenda today, so I need to do some yard work and clean the stairs. Whoopee. But we are picking up the grand girls from school and going to see Thor (???? Not my pick!) and then dinner out. We'll bring them home, wrestle them through showers, pin them down through the hair brushing out and get them into bed. They have to be back at their summer camp by 8 am tomorrow for a field trip they don't want to miss out on. It's a perfect little visit.

QoTD: I'm going with all of them, because I have never been and I would love to go. Good lord willing, I have plenty of time to plan travels ahead of me.

Menu

B: roasted chicken and 1/4 c cottage cheese

L: parm chicken thigh and fresh heirloom tomato

D: dinner out, so I have no clue. I'll be extra good today to give me room for wiggling tonight.

Peace everybody!

DD saw Thor and said it had a good combo of action, comedy, drama, and special effects.

Love the sweaters Jim and the great smiles.

Great news for me they accepted my offer and I will soon be a home owner again soon. Right now the closing date is 8/29 so it works perfect with leaving this retched apartment. The lease is up on 8/31 so we can give notice and not have to sign a new lease. Most of my stuff is in storage so I can have it moved directly into the new house. The inspection is on Monday and assuming nothing shows up it should be a go. I will be able to retire because the payments will be lower than what I was paying on my Maui condo, so I'm happy.

I slept so good last night, my roommate actually woke me up and was worried because I'm usually up before him. I think it is that I can finally relax because I know I will have a home soon.

The dreaded heatwave is here, supposed to be 100 today and not cool down until the weekend. Thank goodness I bought the A/C units.

QOTD- I haven't been to any of them, a very good friend of my Dad was from Sweden. He was a cabinet maker and one of the kindest men I have ever known. On one trip he brought my Mom back some yarn and she made a beautiful sweater for my Dad. I have it now, since he is no longer with us.

Have a great day everyone!
