Good morning ~ Welcome back, Jim! You two are adorable, glad to here you had a great time. Looking forward to more pic's and tales! Today at work I have a training this morning - it makes the day fly which is nice. Rob has a hearing this afternoon so I may have to go home early for the plumber - our shower drains are backing up and it stinks to high heaven. Lovely, right? On a better note, I got up at 4am and upped my treadmill time to 45 minutes today. I was watching the clock hard the last 10 minutes even though I was watching a great show. I need to find things without commercials since they are a reality check... I'd like to work up to 1 hour but I have to be realistic and find a way to make it sustainable - we'll see.
QOTD - Denmark - It's the happiest country! I love that they care for their people - wanting everyone to be happy, healthy, educated and successful.
Accountability - Yup!
B- coffee, plain greek yogurt and 'granola'
l- chicken, feta, salad mix, tomato, kalamatas, lemon vinaigrette
D-chicken tacos
E - 45 minutes high incline treadmill
Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Jim and Menuers,
Oh Jim thanks for sharing that great photo of you and Marylyn. I see you smiling it must have been a great time.
I ran into the office a little early myself. I should have went for a walk or run this morning I was up early but decided to head toward work early and stop and get Mega Millions Lottery tickets. If I win we are all going to OH conference cause I will be paying. Today is my brothers birthday and I was surprised I didn't have a gift for him yet. I am the kind of person if I see something I know that you will like I pick it up and hold on till I need a gift. Nothing must have stuck out in the last year. I ended up getting him a Mega Million Lottery ticket , 2 of his favorite cigars and a bag of Aldi peanut butter cups. Nothing special but it is better than nothing.

QOTD Jim got me at fish and chips, so Iceland it is! Welcome back Jim, I missed your tongue in cheek jokes which always makes me laugh, sometimes out loud. Then everyone stares at me.
Not much on the agenda today other than a Target run. We did Costco last week where I bought 2 pair of size 6 jeans for future as I am not to goal yet. I tried them on anyway and what the hell, they fit! I am sure it's partly due to vanity sizing .... But my ego is verrrry happy, lol
It's raining, that is not normal for summer mornings, neither are nighttime rains, but we are having both this year. Now it will be a steam bath today. Ugh. Weather patterns have changed here in recent years .... It is not hotter, though.
Menu Protein Shake, left over Chili and Cuban, Dinner no clue, lots of food in the house, but nothing sounds good. I am still uninterested in food. But if something smells yummy, I will happily dig in.
Mornin' All!
so glad to have you back, Jim - I've been wondering how the trip was going!
I decided to go over to urgent care late yesterday afternoon to make sure this injury wasn't more serious than I thought it was. It wasn't - no broken bones or ligament damage. Just a lot of swelling and bruising. If nothing else, it was peace of mind. He told me to continue what I'm doing - elevate it and keep it iced. And he also said to take Ibuprofen, which of course I can't - but it's actually much better this morning. Swelling is down significantly, so there's not much pain anymore. Yay! So tonight I'll be able to go to the dinner I signed up for after all (which is good and bad - bad in that it's always a challenge not to overdo it when I'm eating out!)
otherwise, I'll watch more movies today for my class. Just two more to go. I finished watching "Zodiac" last night and loved it. This new one I started last night is about John Dillinger - so hopefully it'll be interesting. So far it seems fine.
QOTD: I've never been to Scandinavia at all, so I'm not sure (although one of my cousins in Chicago is planning a cousins' trip to Sweden for next summer, since some of us have never been, and my dad's paternal grandparents were born there (and we still have a lot of current relatives there, whom this cousin knows pretty well since she goes to Sweden practically every year)). But I have DNA matches in all those countries except for Iceland. I think part of it is that my mother's paternal grandparents are from the area of Sweden just north of Malmo, and that region was once part of Denmark. As for the other countries (well, and maybe Denmark to some extent, too), it's probably just due to people moving around. I've always been intrigued by Finland, though - maybe moreso than the others. It's interesting that Finnish is closer to the Slavic languages than it is to the other Scandinavian languages (well, it's actually not related to the latter at all). Also, I read some article about a Santa Claus village in Finland once which got me wanting to go to Finland. I don't give a hoot about Santa Claus, but some of the other things mentioned in the article piqued my interest. So I guess Finland??
B: protein oatmeal topped with 2 T plain skyr and diced mango, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: I'm thinking a piece of cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with berry compote - but maybe I should have something that'll hold me over longer (because of dinner out) - although it might make more sense to have some stick-to-your-ribs thing as my afternoon snack...
AS: in light of the comment in the lunch section, maybe whole grain toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter? Or some L&F yogurt and a couple of Wasa bread crackers?
D: the place we're going specializes in smoked meats, so maybe pulled pork or pulled chicken. I should be able to stick to 3 oz of it (although I'm sure they'll give me at least twice that - but it works well as a leftover...)
no exercise today given my leg - I hope I can get back to it quickly because I have to be much more careful of my calories if I'm not exercising!! (I don't eat back my calories, but then again, if I take a 20- or 30-mile bike ride, I don't get too upset at myself if I go 100 calories or so above my range..)
So glad to hear that your leg is getting better and nothing is broken/seriously injured.
