This is me, all the time!

Good morning ~ Happy Monday. Where is everyone? I had a lovely weekend! The beach was beautiful. I love seeing our senior dogs act like puppies running around all happy! I saw Crawdads with my sister. I enjoyed it, but the book was so much better. I finished reading Verity. As vulgar as it was, I couldn?t stop reading ? it was good. I started the Silent Patient yesterday ? so far so good. This work week should be packed and productive. Today, I?m working on getting organized and prepping at for some projects coming up and I have two low key meetings.

QOTD ? Tell me what you're watching/reading! I always want ideas! I?m watching VC Andrews Origins, almost done, watched House of Gucci ? loved it! And reading Silent patient, Turnn the ship around (for work) and waiting for the Institute. Still have Moscow waiting...I don?t know why I can?t stay focused.

B-coffee, overnight oats (first try, I have a backup breakfast just in case)

L- chicken, feta, salad mix, tomato, kalamatas, lemon tahini vinaigrette

D-chicken and asparagus

E ? 30 minutes of high incline treadmill while watching guilty pleasure TV ? it flew by! I think I will take a break from the trainers until the August challenge starts and maybe go longer time permitting.

Have a great day!

I really enjoyed Dave Grohl audiobook, performed by him. We are the same age and I was smiling down memory lane the whole time. Enjoy!

G'morning all!

We had a sorta eventful weekend. On Sat DH was out of town for a surf contest that he won 2nd place. He was so happy he sent me a pic of the plaque they gave him. Very much in line with the 4th of July contest where the older guys call themselves something they are not, his category was Grand masters. While he was surfing his heart out I was out for a quick neighborhood run. I have mentioned this before that between two neighborhoods we have a foresty area (maybe about a mile of my 4 miles loop) where I see deers, bobcats and other creatures. I noticed the poison oak leaves had been turning red and I knew I need to stay away from them. I thought I did, until I came home and stepped out of the shower. From my ankles to my knees on the inside of both legs I had bumps. Then they started showing up on the inside of my arm. No panic, just the special stuff you put on and then cortisone cream. Yesterday morning I was worried if the bumps looked too bad I couldn't do the race but the bumps weren't very visible; it's advisable not to cover poison oak and let it air. So I wore my bike shorts and did the 10K race. The bumps are still there but they are not angry looking the way they were on Sat.

I also have an annual with my PCP today so hopefully she can tell me if I need to do anything else or it's just a wait and see game. I hope they are gone before we leave for vacation.

QOTD: reading : you never forget your first (about GW), and the Ancestors series. Watching: the 6th season of outlander. Podcasts: the teacher's trial

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee
  • Bacon and cheese quiche, cappuccino
  • Brookie
  • Cauliflower rice + ground turkey
  • E: 10K jog

Happy start of the week!

Congrats to your DH, and congrats to you! Sounds like you're both killing it with the activities.

Poison anything is not fun. Are you offroading with your neighborhood runs? A lot of my mature trees here are coated in poison ivy vines. I work against them in the winter but boy, they're tenacious! Hope you heal soon. Cheers!

I like that term "off roading"...yes I do trail runs and in my area now is the season for poison oak, when they are that red color they are very dangerous.
