Yay! It's finally (photo) Friday! What's on your plan?

Good morning and happy Friday! I really enjoyed all the pictures yesterday; this is a team of people that have embraced change and are doing the best they can every single day! Good for all of us!
QOTD - do you have a guilty pleasure website? Kind of like the trash TV escape? Mine is The Court Jeweller. Every day, I get to look at sparkly tiaras and earrings and such, frequently with old historical photos and I enjoy it very much.
I won't be posting a menu today; it's girls weekend and planning is tough. I know there will be coffee and a healthy breakfast, after that, all bets are off. However, while planning how to nurture my body is hard, I know my soul will be nurtured with time with my wonderful and amazing girl gang - there will be laughs, hugs, new stupid stories, gossip and repeating old stupid stories too. It will be awesome.
My pictures today are sunset from my deck after Wednesday's rainstorm and a penguin.
Have a fantastic Friday and wonderful weekend everyone!

Good mornin everyone, hope you have a great girls weekend Jen!
Not a whole lot on the dock for today. My mom has a doctors appointment at 10:15. Then likely Walmart and we have the kids for two hours or so.
I'm totally overwhelmed and exhausted. The constant pain is wearing me down. It just gets heavy sometimes and this is one of those times.
QOTD: lol sometimes I've been known to read TMZ.
B: JUST egg cup and coffee
Everything else is totally unplanned.

Hi Jen,
Your upcoming day sounds amazing. I hope it fills your cup, so to speak. Great example of taking care of all of you.
Today I'm treating myself. It's been a week since surgery (already!) and other than some broth with the protein, and the chocolate protein, I've only had water to drink for over a week. I've just brewed a pot of decaf ginger peach tea and am looking forward to adding back a new flavor.
It rained for a couple of hours last night and all the birds here are celebrating. It's relaxing to watch them flit around as I work in the kitchen. Today I'll try to clean up around the house a bit.
Menu is unchanged. I'm aiming for 64 total ounces of fluids and at least 80 grams of protein. I made that yesterday but something feels a bit off about the protein. I still have a bit of a headache, some lightheadedness, and heavy limbs. I know it's an adjustment and I'm only taking in a few hundred calories, so I'm waiting it out.
Here are a couple of pictures from a trip I took to Hawaii a few months ago. One is sunset from Mauna Kea and the other is overlooking a valley we weren't allowed to hike into. Cheers.

Gorgeous photos! You've done so good your first week...and excited for your first new flavor:-). I remember when I moved off my nothing but gatorade phase and that first cup of coffee which was pretty much a splash of coffee in fair life milk but it was divine! When does your plan progress you to the next stage?

Thanks! I continue to be amazed at how variable different clinics and diet plans can be. I'm on this stage until at least my follow up visit, which is August 1st. The surgeon will make the call to advance to soft foods or not...I really hope he does!
Technically I can have flavored clear liquids in this phase but just about everything on the list is sweet, which is why I've just stuck to water for now. Kinda funny that I've had more sugar this last week with the chocolate protein than a month with my regular diet. I always was a savory over sweet.
And the tea? Amazing! I can imagine what that first sip of coffee was like after being confined to Gatorade. Wow!

Try to remember your body is in the healing stages therefore you will have fatigue and some low energy for awhile. As you heal and your calories increase the energy will come. I think it was about 8 weeks for me. You are doing a wonderful job of taking care of yourself. I rarely drink plain water because I love to add non-calorie flavors to it. It takes care of my sweet needs and makes the water go down easier. Starbucks tazo iced passion tea is really good (you can also buy the tea bags at the grocery store)
