You look great Jen! And so adventurous.
QOTD - I always wake up thinking I made it another day. And I'm grateful for it.
Yesterday was an exercise in coping. It's been above 100 degrees for close to a month here. Needless to say, just about everything is brown and crunchy. I'm still working to keep my landscaping alive but now I have bonus obstacles. I can't pick up more than 10 pounds, and I can't drink a lot when I'm thirsty.
So yesterday I filled a bunch of containers with water and individually carried them to my car. I then drove my car to the end of my gravel driveway (not on pain meds) and watered each plant individually. Then had to take a break to rehydrate. Looking forward to a break in this weather.
I don't have any throwbacks yet. Maybe in another year.
Yesterday I pretty much made my fluid goals and got in 71g of protein. I'm confident I can do that again today.
Hope you all have a great day!

Driving to water the plants is funny but a great example of doing what you need to get things done! Good job on the fluids!

Haha, thank you! It might help to know that my gravel driveway is about 300 feet long. My other option seemed to be carrying one container of water at a time all the way down in the heat. Good for exercise...not so great for efficiency! Cheers.

I am really impressed with your diligence in getting your fluids and protein in. 71 grams of protein so close to your surgery date is amazing. I love the creativity to get your plants watered despite your lifting restrictions. keep up the amazing work you are doing.

Thank you! I'm super worried about dehydration. And want to make sure my body has what it needs to heal. On the other hand, I feel so full all the time from sipping! I'm sure others here have been through that. Really wondering how this will work once I move to soft foods and can't drink before or after eating. Whew!

It's not as hard as you think; you'll be able to have slightly bigger swallows by then and you just don't eat as much. I know some people have said that the before/after delays is hard for them but for me it has been the easiest of the rules to follow. My program did, after I was transitioned fully to "normal" foods, say that the gap before was no longer required (but other programs I know keep it forever).
