What's on your junior Friday (Thursday) menu?

The walk and sip is no joke! Even if you feel like getting up and walking is the worst idea in the world, you will feel better every time. Sipping when you don't feel like it is better than getting dehydrated which is absolutely awful. Walk, walk, walk - sip, sip, sip. Best of luck to you on your new journey!!!!

Thank you! I will take that to heart. I've hired several stories about people who end up in the emergency room on fluids. Would much rather be sipping when I don't feel like it. You guys are such a great community!

Cheering for you. I am so excited for you to begin this Journey. It is an absolutely fun ride for the first 2 years. After that it is just normal. Just remember for the first few months you are just healing. If you think "what have I done," as we all had, it gets better I promise.

Haha, buyer's remorse noted! And thanks for the support. It's been a journey so far and I'm looking forward to the next steps. Just got to wait out the first few months! Cheers.

I agree on the "what have I done to myself?" feeling right after surgery. I did experience it for a very short while before adapting to the new diet lifestyle. Now I eat for nutrition and my taste in food has changed dramatically. I actually crave nutritious healthy options.
Enjoy the journey.

Yes! My check in is 6:15. Because I'm me and it's over an hour away, will be leaving earlier to buffer for traffic. Kind of interesting since I met the 5:15 and 7:15 ladies during pre op Monday. We're all having the same kind of surgery. And it's only supposed to be 45 minutes, barring issues. I think this surgeon is a wizard. He said he's had three leaks in 3,000 procedures. Sure made me feel better.

Wow! 45 minutes is very fast. I think on average it is 1.5 hours of actual surgical time nationally.

Wishing you luck and zero discomfort.
You will be so happy once you are on the other side.
I second the sip-walk mantra.
When I was going to the support meetings provided by my center (before Covid), I remember a young lady who was in tears after her surgery. She regretted it because on Mother's Day she couldn't enjoy her usual foods with her kids. Fast forward 6 months and she was a ray of sunshine and was making fun of herself for having been so negative. In short, yes buyer's remorse might set in, but hang in there and when you see how fast the pounds come off you'll be on the 9th cloud.
Can't wait to hear from you after the surgery.
