What's on your Wednesday menu, everyone?
It is hump day!
Today I have a test to become certified as a bariatric nurse. It is a requirement of my job. I have to go to a testing center, it is all very rigorous in checking in. They make you lock away everything in your pockets, your cell phone, etc. This will be my 3rd certification as I have already been certified as a Nurse Leader, and Critical Care Registered Nurse. Other than that jus the usual work stuff.
QOTD: I am currently reading the Silent Patient, which I really like so far. Just finished Stranger Things Season 4, The Staircase (limited series) on HBO, and started Barry.
B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, 1/4c blueberries, keto granola, cold brew with half n half
L: Summer salad with chicken, poppy seed dressing
S: protein frosty
D: chicken with veggies
S: 100 cal kettle corn, 4 squares sf chocolate
E: 60 min hot yoga
Have a wonderous Wednesday!

Good morning! Hello home, hello my own bed, hello my own shower, hello my own shampoo! Oh how I have missed you this trip. I know this is a first world problem, but I've been in so many different hotel rooms and houses and locations since May 16 that I'm having trouble finding the potty in the middle of the night! I wake up and am like, uh, which way do I go! TMI!
Happy to report that Dad is doing great and my drive home yesterday was unremarkable. So that is a good thing. Roger spent all day smoking a brisket and it would not come up to temp, so we left it on and ordered a pizza for him, some boneless wings for me. Not great but that is what happened.
Today I have already been out for a 2.5 mile walk. Feels like a fast power walk to me, but it appears I average almost 17 minutes a mile. I'm pretty certain I couldn't outrun a sloth if I needed to. But I did make sure there was a big hill on my walk. And I had to wear a sweatshirt. I loved that. After 8 straight days of 110 degree heat I am happy to have a little cool weather. Currently it's 63 degrees out, expected high of 82.
QoTD: The Bear. Part of the reason this speaks to me is because my daughter is (was) a pastry chef in a high end kitchen. It's very intense, dark, emotional. You hate everybody and then love them then hate them again. I blew through the 8 episodes in two days. Episode 7 is very short. 20 minutes. But if you read reviews on the show, industry people from big kitchens say they are still scarred by it. How very true to real life it is. I think it's on Hulu.
Menu today is a little dicey
B: cottage cheese and maybe I can find some frozen cooked chicken in the freezer?
L: unknown. Maybe I will take Rog out for shrimp tacos and have mine served protein style
D: smoked brisket, grilled artichokes. piece of corn on the cob.
Peace Everybody!
