This is a true story!! I confirmed it while typing the thread heading, lol!
Hope everyone's Tuesday was excellent and Wednesday continues a positive trend.
Usual busy day at work but I don't have any after work activities planned and I'm thinking a need an exercise rest day so it could be a good day for me. If I do something, I'll get on the elliptical; I'm only half way through the latest episode of Grantchester so need to fini****
QOTD - recommend something you are reading/watching/listening to -- I just finished Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and season 4 of Stranger Things and both were very good. I'm watching the second season of Only Murders in the Building and it's also good.
menu today
coffee plus half and half X2
scrambled egg with cheddar cheese
mixed veggies with tatziki
leftover chicken breast in half pita
blackberries with NSA Reddiwhip
Have a great day everyone!

Haha, love that meme. When I was a kid I learned to spell Wednesday correctly because NES was Nintendo Entertainment System...
Got so much done yesterday in preparation for visitors and not being able to do anything heavy. Including rescuing a lizard from the floor grate in my den. Yay, country life. Not sure if its nerves or feeling the increased energy but it's barely 6:30 and I'm getting tons done. Just need to mop floors tonight and make up the guest bed. Sounds easy until you factor in my helper (doggo).
QOTD - hmm. Watching. I'm kinda eclectic and I took a liking recently to RRR. Epic Indian movie. Like, literally an epic since its close to three hours long. I appreciated it more than most action movies.
Today's menu - last real food for...a while!
Breakfast - isopure protein shake
Snack - light string cheese
Lunch - nonfat Greek yogurt, sliced bell pepper
Water, water, tea!
Have an excellent day!

What does your first week postop look like? My plan was 7 days of 64 oz (regular) gatorade and then water if needed. I can't even walk down the aisle with the gatorade at the grocery store still.

Oh my gosh, don't think I could do that. I seem to be in the minority in that I don't like sweet drinks at all. I can feel your cringe from here!
My first two weeks are water and protein shakes. They won't release you from the hospital until you can tolerate the stage two diet, being sipping protein shakes (stage one is tolerating sipping water). I'm not allowed anything else until they advance my diet at the two week post op.
Sitting on this side of surgery, I'm okay with that since I heal slowly so would rather give my system as much time as possible to bounce back. And hopefully kick-starts the post surgery weight loss. Cheers!

I also didn't like sweet! Try the injury chicken broth protein or, I used Miners chicken base in ho****er and used unflavored protein in mild water (ho****er makes it clump) and added it like a slurry!
You sound prepared and ready to go. You'll do great! Follow your plan and get ready for an incredible ride

Hi there!
Thanks for the feedback. I actually got a taster pack of the Unjury chicken soup in the mail today. I'll give it a go once I'm home. Funnily enough, I also got some low salt broth today. Trying to have a few options on hand in case of tolerance issues. Appreciate you taking the time to respond! Cheers.

Why low salt? I had to increase my sodium intake significantly since I was not eating carbs.
I still need to remember to get more sodium when I'm on a keto diet. Significant amount of sodium.

Oh interesting. To be honest, it hasn't come up. Low salt/no salt has always been a buying habit of mine when I can to offset the tons of salt it feels like comes in most prepared food. There's not been a health reason. I don't have high blood pressure. So this might be something to think about. Thanks for questioning it! I'm curious how much you had to increase your salt intake, though!

my normal intake is app 2000mg p/d, when keto - I need to get at least 4000 mg ideally 5-6,000 mg of sodium.
Carbs- glycogen - keep water in the muscles - the body. When fasting or doing really low carb - body start using the stored glycogen first, and we pee a lot of water out. That's why a lot of people can "lose " 8-10lbs in a first 8-10 days or really low carbs or fasting. headaches, muscle cramps, feeling tired - are some of the symptoms of internal dehydration.
Adding sodium, and other electrolytes often helps with some of those - with keto flue like symptoms.
