What's on your Monday menu, everyone?

Good morning everyone! Let's get this Monday started!

I had a great weekend, a good mix of activities although a bit self indulgent. My trainer cancelled on my Saturday and my abs were dying all weekend from the medicine ball crunch routine on Friday so I gave myself an exercise break. The Friends Experience was fun, very nostalgic, very much a money grab but we had a good time and the new Thor movie is entertaining. Now back to the work week!

QOTD - do you have any habits from pre-WLS that you still find yourself doing? Mine is around laundry - I have short legs, long torso and with a large belly, I had stopped drying any tops in the dryer because they would always "shrink"...and with that particular configuration it didn't take much to end up flashing your belly at everyone when you stretched so I couldn't chance it. I realized that I still do that, even though it's been years since anything shrank in the dryer (it may not have been the dryer after all, lol)

In the plans for today

Boxing Workout, maybe some elliptical time

coffee plus half and half X2

PB toast and breakfast sausage

tatziki and mixed veggies, with a cheese stick

grilled chicken breast

L&F greek yogurt

Have a magnificent Monday, everyone!

Good morning, everybody!

I'm off to an early start today. Even went to 5:30 Crossfit. I don't see myself becoming a regular at that one. I have to be in the office for an annual HR related meeting, then back home for a 3:00 COVID test and the cars come to pick us up at 4:00. Iceland is only a 6 hour flight plus 5 hours time difference, so we leave Chicago at 7:30 and arrive at 6:20 Tuesday morning.

Norwegian announced last week that they would discontinue COVID testing requirements except in the three places required by local law, but are waiting until August 1st to do so. In addition to the stress of making sure that none of our party tests positive, its $139 per person. Unless it is contagious through the internet, I am fairly certain that neither son has COVID.

This weekend was mostly getting ready for the trip. DD and her boyfriend cam in yesterday and I picked them up at the airport.

I told my youngest that I hoe we can see polar bears from the ship in Greenland. He said that I will probably see them on the hike. Um, hopefully that is not the case.

QOTD: If I put on a shirt and feel it through my chest and shoulders, I still expect it not to fit. After surgery that feeling of fitted through the chest and floppy around the waist was the best.

Breakfast: Bagel and lox

Lunch: Catered, I think its some sort of salad

Dinner: Something at the airport

I will also bring snacks in my briefcase, although I am liking protein bars less and less. I must be getting more sensitive to the sugar alcohols.

Have a great day, all!

I am sure they will have armed guards with you on the hike, just in case! Unless they've changed it (which is possible, I know tourism has increased there) Reykjavik is my favorite place to go through customs, it's so easy! Also, if you get a chance, do try the Black Licorice Skyr, I've been trying to get them to sell it here for years but apparently they think it will be a purchasing audience of one.

Thanks!

Having everyone together at dinner without electronics is probably the biggest for me. Next to that seeing Sea life, like dolphins, whales, etc.

I am impressed with the 5:30am workout. I have a hard time dragging myself out of bed at that hour to workout. I have always preferred to workout in the early evening when my body is "warmed up" from the day.

Hope you have a great time on your cruise. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Good mornin everyone.

BOY...let me tell you you, Saturday ends up being such a hard and stressful day after my post. We almost lost Mona. Still not sure what was up but we took her to the vet and they gave us some more pain meds and antibiotics. She was just so uncomfortable. She stood for almost 6 hours...maybe even more...STRAIGHT. She was having severe breathing issues. I think she was also having an anxiety issue. She wouldn't eat and barely drank and started throwing up again. Good news is that she is doing so so soooo much better! It's like night and day. She is back to being a food hound and drinking on her own free will. I cried a lot Saturday and realized just HOW much I love her, I knew I did but...well you know.

Not a lot planned for the day. I have six packages to take to the post office. We may get a few groceries or run to the thrift store. I am super groggy this morning and can barely keep my eyes open straight.

QOTD: hmmm...I still wear humongous sleep shirts. Other than that I'm drawing a blank.

Food is totally unplanned...I haven't been great the last few days with food which has run over into this mornin. I am going to set up a menu this evening.
