What's on your Thursday menu, RNYers?
Lana, you are paying more than us. Are your kids cars titled in their own names? Here it's significantly cheaper to have kids as drivers on a parent car than owning there own.

Ooh, going to give this a go!
Today's been busy with me struggling to catch up on administrative things for work while my neighbors are baling hay outside. And my dog wants me to know ALL about it. Glad I have the flexibility to work from home some. I'm in isolation a bit in preparation for my surgery on 7/15. My hospital still does covid testing, so trying to control for all the variables.
QOTA - why yes! I even worked a season as a busker at the Georgia Renaissance festival when I was about...17? Whew, that was a long time ago. I can see the appeal of pretending to be someone else and living in another time. Plus...food on a stick! And who doesn't love tavern singalongs?
Menu
I'm on the pre op diet of two protein drinks and a small meal, plus a snack or two. So...
Breakfast - OWYN protein shake
Snack - hard boiled egg
Lunch - plain Greek yogurt and a sliced bell pepper. The dogs helped with that part
Snack - low fat cottage cheese
Dinner - OWYN protein shake
To drink...water and ALL the decaf peaches and ginger tea I can hold. Was so glad to find some loose leaf decaf.
Cheers!

Welcome to the thread! Your surgery will be here before you know it. I didn't have a pre-op diet but many here have and they can be challenging!
I think it would be so fun to work an event like the renaissance festival; maybe something for me to look into after retirement....but something easy like taking tickets so I can just people watch!

Hi Jen,
Thank you! Still a mix of apprehensive and wanting to get through it. And you're right, the pre op diet can be tough. I'm three days in. On a good note, the manual I got at my initial consult made a point of calling out that the good habits start now...so I've made a lot of the changes I'll need already. I think that's helping with not suffering from the diet. So far. I don't know how it will be this time next week when I'm on clear fluids only. Something to look forward to, I guess!
As for the festival - it is fun to an extent. I worked a fall season back when they used to have them twice a year. Much cooler, to the point of some other posters. It was a great experience...might be fun for retirement, as you said!
Cheers
