What's on your Tuesday menu, menu people?
on 6/28/22 3:57 am
It's only TUESDAY...but at least it's Tuesday!
yesterday was a day, work was annoying, I had to deal with a few first world problems (including one that I suspect will drag on this week) but it's a new day!
My day is packed with meetings, so it will go fast! I don't think I have any place I have to go after work so that's nice and I can get somethings done around the house.
QoTD - Have you ever had Jury Duty? The closest I came was having to go through a 3 day jury selection process for what turned out to be a long murder trial here years ago. I would like to be on a jury, I believe in doing my civic duty but I don't want it to be sad, I don't want it to involve anything with children, I'd rather not be sequestered....essentially, I want to be on the jury trial for someone that decides the need a jury for a speeding ticket, lol
menu today
coffee plus half and half X2
PB toast
L&F greek and limoncello gouda
enchilada fillings -- I tried the almond flour tortillas yesterday, they were pretty good. Could be that it's so long that I've had a tortilla I don't remember what they are supposed to taste like but these were good!
Have a great day everyone!

hi all
didn't sleep well I think its work stuff that i can't release my mind of. and my stomach has been wonky a bit
we had breakfast for dinner last night, we split the toppings of the cook an egg thing with cheese sausage and bacon and i used egg whites and 1 egg. it was too much and I had to put 1/2 away once I factored in the low carb tortilla i had with it. priorities right? i have not weighed since coming back since i had girl stuff now trying to up the water. I still have not started back exercising and the $39 charge monthly to my card makes me feel guilty. maybe i will just carve out time up in the office today to do a relaxing yoga one.
QOTD: never had to go... i surprised but we live in a town that doesn't see that much crime.

Mornin' All!
I'm planning to get out on my bike soon - it's an absolutely beautiful morning! I'm also thinking of getting a pedicure this morning since I don't think I'll go to water aerobics this week (it's too nice out! And the chlorine isn't very friendly to pedicures) - and then there's the Scotland trip - so no chlorine there, either. This afternoon I have an online Mah Jongg game - between vacations and COVID, my "team" hasn't played Mah Jongg in almost two months - I hope we all remember how to play! And then there's the usual getting ahead on classes...
all my bloodwork came back normal (although still waiting on B1 - that can take about a week since they have to send it to a lab in Utah. Not concerned about that one, though). I was a little worried about calcium since my endocrinologist took me off all calcium supplements last fall (although I have to monitor my intake and take a supplement if I don't hit 150% through my food - and that only happens maybe 2-3 x a month. I eat A LOT of dairy!!). That was normal - and although my PTH has risen (expected, of course....), it's still well within the normal range. Whew.
QOTD: I've been called for jury duty three times, but I've only served once. The other two times the cases were settled out of court at the last minute. I had a DUI/OWI case, which evidently most of them are. I was hoping for something more interesting, like a murder case - but at the time I was still working, so it might have been a bit of a pain, since murder trials can go on for awhile. It wouldn't be a pain any more, though. The case I sat on wasn't too interesting, but it was eye-opening being in the jury room afterward. There was great disagreement over whether the guy was guilty or not. I thought his story was pathetic and he was guilty as hell, but the opposing people would NOT listen to those of us who thought he was guilty, and would NOT budge. So one by one, we ended up caving. I was not happy - but at the same time, it's better to find a guilty person innocent than find an innocent person guilty (although years later, I still think the guy was guilty!!). So it was a bit frustrating, to say the least.
B: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake (I think I'll make a vanilla one blended with fresh canteloupe)
L: protein muffin?
AS: Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries or peaches
D: pulled pork with BBQ sauce, Mexican street corn
have a great day, everyone!

My PCP took me down from 3x to 1x calcium years ago and my numbers are good.

I went from 3X to 2X, we will have to see how this year's test goes. Hala says that if you take too much calcium it can deposit on your arteries so too much is also bad.
Also, I still have the bag of chews that were in my office pre-COVID. They were as hard as rocks a year ago, I don't think they have gotten any softer in the intervening time. I don't know why I don't just throw them away.

That's what my PCP said about calcium as well. I miss those chews - so good, so expensive!

I love the chews also. I get the caramel and dinner mint flavors. Then I do one dark chocolate calcium in the evening as a treat.
