I can see where Jen is coming from but my first thought was that it was a cute idea. I am always glad to see others perspective.

Good morning, everybody!

This is singularly the greatest face plant that I have ever seen

This sort of plowing technique is actually is how we tamed the plains and made Nebraska the world's breadbasket.

It all started innocently enough at a second grade field day in Essex England. The daughter of Katie Hannaford begged her to participate in the parent sprint event.

Katie repeatedly begged off, noting that she "wasn't Sporty". Indeed.

Well, kids being kids, the young Hannaford persisted and Katie ended up entering the race.

Things started smoothly as the parents lined up astride the starting line and the opening bell sounded. All ran about fifteen yards until, and here I'm going to quote Eminem, because that's apparently how Trish rolls now, "oops there goes gravity."

Finger, hands, wrists, elbows piercing the turf and alluvial muck seeking purchase at the Earth's core. Worms and larval insects disturbed from their Midsommer's Nap. Childbearing hips skyward, akimbo.

Eileen, some have suggested that this was an overly aggressive underwear choice for an elementary school field day. But that is not our call to make. Instead I will turn my effort to another service. There are a number of spectacular photographers on the RNY page. Unfortunately, none of them took this picture.

The gym teacher in the background is basically a pixelated mess. Fortunately, through computer technology, we can recreate her reaction as she watches the race unfold:

As parents we tell our kids the same things over and over again: " Eat your vegetables", "Look both ways before you cross the street", "put your dirty clothes in the hamper", "If you are going to steal the Vodka at least replace it with distilled water." All the basics, but we have to say them over and over.

But Katie has devised a hack. Because the next time that a neighbor asks her daughter if the family wants to come over for a bit of lawn darts, you can be sure that she is going to answer:

"Me Mum's not sporty"

I think that I covered the weekend yesterday - Dead & Company tonight and tomorrow night at Wrigley Field. Hoping to hear 4 of my top 10 between the two shows. We are going into the city and staying overnight on Saturday. Other than that mostly Crossfit.

QOTD: When I was in my late 20's I had lost down to about where I am now and i went into the gym wearing a sweatshirt from a police road race. The woman behind the desk asked if I was a cop.

If I accidentally or even on purpose took that picture, I think sharing it would immediately remove my good human compliment.

great picture of you and Marilyn, you are kind of smiling and she really has one of the best smiles.

QOTD- My former boss told me that I was the fastest engineer that he had. But he's also the one that fired me because I didn't want to come in to the petri dish (office during covid) or train my replacement.

I finally got the notice from the state of Hawaii, turned around and sent in the paper work express mail 1 day and it should be there by 6PM today. Which in reality means Monday.

There's a house I'm going to go look at this afternoon. It's only been on the market 2 days and so far no offers. If the price stays where it is I can swing it without needing the money from Hawaii. I expect that to take at least a month, but I feel better knowing I did my part quickly.

I've gained about 12 lbs and I need to get this off. I had to buy a larger size of jeans to get me through until I can loose it again. Not happy.

Love the wine bottle meme. I forgot about the planets or I could have seen it. I was awake around that time.

We are supposed to be in the high 90's this weekend, not looking forward to cooking.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning! Happy to be at my own place and and catching up on stuff. Yesterday's drive home was long, boring and uneventful. As it should be. I slept great in my own bed, but have been having some whoppers of dreams. Last night it was my granddaughter and I in BIG trouble at her school for gossiping. She was dressed as Alice in Wonderland. I was just me. And we both were in trouble. I think I know where this dream stems from. I find dreams so interesting. The other night I dreamt I won 155 million dollars and I was happily spending it in my sleep. I woke up with a shock and realized that all my money went poof. Sort of like my 401K of late!

Today we have no plans until dinner and it's hot here. High 90's with a bit of humidity so I'll probably stay in most of the day. Thought I do need a run to Bevmo to bring my parts of the dinners we are going to tonight and tomorrow. I'll brave the heat for wine -- and maybe take Rog out for lunch. He's playing pickle ball right now. He's crazy. There is zero airy air outside.

QoTD: I have to say the best compliment ever are the ones from my kids and the kids I have unofficially adopted. They tell me all the time that I am a great mom, or that I am the mom they wished they had. Or Brian once told me, I am what taught him what family really is. Making good humans is my jam I think. The real reason I was put on this earth.

Menu:

B: 2-3 oz left over porkchop. This would be a great pick, except my husband made them last night and used a new recipe he found. I'm going to estimate at least a couple teaspoons of butter were involved in the making if this lovely little TJ's frenched pork chop.

L: not sure. Either deli turkey meat and 1 oz cheddar cheese, or a shrimp protein bowl.

D: eating with friends. Not sure what they will have. I will concentrate on portion control

My pics are

My sweet Dad just got his drivers license renewed last month. He's 84. Check out the expiration date.

My other two are of a big dude trying to stay cool in a mall near the hospital Dad was in and a shot of my Chili Relleno casserole, mostly for Chrissy!

Peace Everybody!
