What's on your Thursday menu?

Good Thursday morning everyone!
Not much in way of plans today. I have an appointment with the pain management clinic and we'll have the kids for a while.
I got to feeling really sick yesterday. All stomach related. Today seems better so far. A headache is still hanging on, better than yesterday though. Pain has been rather high.
QOTD: If you could go back and tell your teenage you one thing what would it be?
Some asked me this a bit ago. It's a hard one. I think I'd tell myself that you are enough.
B: oatmeal
L: carrot soup and cheese
D: ???
S: SF pudding, keto snack mix and ???
Percy in all his whisker glory!

Good morning, everybody!
Today I am in the office, so up early today. Orientation finished yesterday. They got signed up for classes, ordered a computer for my son and did most of what they needed to do. I think that when he gets home, he still needs to fill out some health forms and finalize his living arrangements, which hopefully will be a single room.
DS heads home and I will pick him up at the airport this afternoon. Marilyn had a 5:30 flight to Orange County for her tennis tournament. She has reservations at VACA today and hopefully will be able to report back to us. It is possible that she is going on Sunday instead.
I finally came across a Dr. Sally Ride quarter yesterday, but it was in rough shape. We are saving it for now, but hoping that we get a clean one soon.
QOTD: Pay more attention to your health.
Breakfast: egg sandwich
Lunch: Chicken
Dinner: Hello Fresh (Hopefully youngest will cook it!)
Have a great day, all!

Mornin' All!
I'm trying to decide between a 7:45 Zumba class or a bike ride this morning. The humidity level is 90% (UGH!), although it's only in the high 60s, so I guess I could ride. If so, I'd better get out this morning because it's going to be too windy this afternoon. Some nice days coming up, thankfully...
I'm supposed to go down to the northern Chicago 'burbs this weekend to drop off something for my friend who moved down there a couple of months ago, and then to meet up with another friend (from NC) who'll be in Evanston for a few days visiting her step grandson. Haven't heard anything lately from friend #1, so not sure what's going on. I just want to make sure she's still planning to be around so I'll have something to do on Saturday (the other friend I'm not meeting until lunch time on Sunday). I'll probably just go down for the day on Sunday if friend #1 isn't available. I just wish she'd communicate. She hasn't responded to texts, so I emailed her c/o of her new business address last night. Fingers crossed).
QOTD: I'm on board with paying attention to my health, too. I started smoking when I was 15 (but not regularly until I went to college, since of course I couldn't smoke at home), I didn't really exercise, and I'd go out with friends on the weekends and get drunk (not every weekend, of course - but too much). I weighed around 160-170 lbs in high school, which is not horrible, of course (overweight, but not obese), but I wish I'd have nipped that in the bud, too, when it would have been much easier to get that off.
B: grilled peach with vanilla yogurt, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: chickpea/tuna salad on a Wasa cracker, storebought kale salad
AS: protein muffin
D: Impossible sausage ravioli with tomato/ricotta pesto sauce
have a great day, everyone!

Smoking! Holy cow - me too. I started at 14 - crazy dumb. So glad I stopped that nasty habit.

I smoked from 17 till a month before my surgery. Sometimes I am more proud of the quitting smoking than the weight loss. I was absolutely harder. I still crave them every so often but have a strong conviction of never going back.

the first few months after quitting smoking (and I had two long quits before I quit for good at age 35), were horrendous - much, much tougher than losing weight after WLS. Long term, though, weight loss might beat it out. The only time I ever think of smoking any more is when I have the occasional dream about it (still! Almost 30 years after quitting!!), but I'm not sure I'll ever get completely over the food obsession and the overeating risk. Since you have to eat to live, it's always there, lurking in the background (and sometimes not even lurking!!) UGH.
My mother smoked when I was young. My father didnt like smoking so if we were all in the car together she wouldnt smoke. However, if it was just my mom and us kids she would light up. Ugh, no wonder I would get car sick everytime we would go somewhere. Even now the smell of cigarette smoke is gaggy.
