Monday, we meet again! What's on your menu?
on 6/13/22 3:43 am
Good morning and welcome to the new week! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. it was hot here all weekend so I did not do much outside but had a good indoor weekend.
Busy work day today, having to catch up from everything after last week's travel and then meeting some friends to see Thor: Ragnorok at Red Rocks; they do an opening musical act and then the movie on the screen; it's a fun night out and the weather should be perfect.
QOTD - if you could have one super power, what would you pick? Mine would be teleportation. Not having to commute or drive anywhere would be so useful.
I had overdone some of my shoulder work so both my trainer and my PT recommended I take Sunday as a rest day...and hilariously, made a list of the things I shouldn't do if I was resting so I'm going to ease back with just a walk this morning.
Menu today is
coffee plus half and half X 2
left over no bun burger
cheese and salami
tokyo joe's protein bowl -- chicken, sweet potatoes, veggies in the green curry sauce
Have a good start to the week everyone! Make it a great one!

Good mornin Jen and thanks for getting us going.
we were also hot this weekend. 108° at my house both days. YUCK! We are supposed to cool down to a 102° today. Not impressed lol
I had to just stop talking the ketamine. It was interacting with my med Abilify. I wasn't sleeping much and it had started to upset my GERD. I sent in a note but I see them Thursday anyway. I'm sick & tired of this.
QOTD: hmmm. Not sure on this one.
food is a big unknowns today, I do however see naps

Mornin' All!
I have my book discussion group this morning and then it's back to watching class lectures this afternoon. I was hoping to bike over to the meeting this morning, but the rain chances are increasing and it'll be up to about 50% by 11:00 am (meeting is from 10:00-noon), so I may just drive. I don't want to risk having to bike home in the rain. Today won't be too bad temp-wise, but we'll be hit with 90+ F starting tomorrow. Ugh. I can't stand temperature extremes!!
QOTD: teleportation sounds perfect! I especially don't like long drives and long plane rides, so I'd take this in a heartbeat!
B: protein shake
MS: protein muffin (I'm taking this to the book discussion group because the leader has this obsession with baking and ALWAYS bring baked treats to the meeting. Not caving this time. I'll be armed with my protein muffin....)
L: chickpea/tuna salad on Wasa crackers
AS: ?? maybe a lemon L&F yogurt with fresh raspberries and a skinny bagel with light cream cheese?
D: pulled chicken with BBQ sauce, small sweet potato with butter and Swerve brown "sugar"
ex: something. Most likely a youtube video
have a great day, everyone!

Hello hello everyone! I am alive! Miss you all terribly.
I have a rare few days off! Whoo! To celebrate Grim's Birthday we are driving a few hours away to the Berkshires take a Blacksmithing class together for a few days :) But before we leave I have a few days off to just get my **** together. I have a hair appointment, dentist appointment, eye appointment, bloodwork appointment and dermatology appointment over the next few days. I will be poked and prodded from end to end, haha.
So... I have made a decision to leave my job at the end of the summer and go back to school full time for a 2nd graduate degree--this time I will get my MBA. It will be a big financial hit to take a full year off but I am lucky that I can swing it, and I think its the right time in my life to do it! I'm looking forward to rejoining you all, daily, then!
QOTD: I'll take the ability to talk to animals, like Mirabel's cousin in Encanto, please!
I wish I could say that I have been great about meal planning but I won't pretend I have. Today is no exception. I don't have a lot of food in the house but I think I can swing this with what I have :)
B: Protein Coffee
S: Cheese Stick
L: Shrimp
S: Balanced break
D: Cheeseburger (no bun!)

Glad to see you QJB! Blacksmithing class sounds hot hot hot but what a fun and unique activity! I have seen some of the blacksmith people at the renaissance festivals so that is my whole frame of reference.

Me too! I have no idea if I am going to like this or not but we like to try new things. So far we've done a bunch of crafts - woodworking, chair caning, letterpress, glassblowing and now blacksmithing!
I was laughing last night because we are going to make a "J" hook. Apparently you can buy a pack of 20 for $12 on Amazon, but after hotels, meals and the class cost we are going to pay about $1000 for 2. Lol. Brilliant.

- sounds like you are having fun exploring different crafts. I think that would be so much fun. I need to look for some of these activities. Where do you find them? A special website, etc?

Nope, they are through different places. We've done some woodworking classes at Woodcraft stores and at a handmade tool store. There is a great glassblowing studio near us that does classes, and we did letter press and blacksmithing at local Shaker Villages. I am a big fan of doing "experience" gifts rather than "things" so I am always on the look out for stuff to do :)
