What's on you Wednesday Menu?

Good morning!! I'm trying to persuade myself that today is going to be a great day, not a day of chaos! I have such a busy day at work, plus my PT appt, plus flying to the east coast after work for two days of meetings. It's so busy the only way I can make it to my appt and my meetings is to plan to zoom into one meeting from the parking lot of my physical therapist. I am definitely going to relax once I get on the flight though! My usual rule is if I'm flying during business hours, I will work on the flight; if I'm flying after business hours or on the weekend, I can just relax and read (unless I need to get something done, of course). So it will be reading tonight!
Adding Amy's QOTD since I forgot one -- What are you reading?
Menu today
coffee plus half and half X 2
L&F Greek
Cheese and salami
built or barebells bar
TBD on anything else
Have a great hump day everyone!

Good luck today Jen!
I talked to my pain management clinic and the NP said to go up to three whole troches instead of half a one twice a day. I feel higher than a kite(of which I am NOT a fan) but it helped with the pain more so and it is helping with the depression for sure. It's just something I've got to get used to. Still no word on the egd. I did talk to my neurosurgeon's office and I should hear more by the end of the week. The doctor he is going to consult with was out of state or something and he should get to it this week. I'm not holding my breath lol.
not a lot planned for the day, we have the kids so that'll make it busy. I think we may run to a grocery store after they leave at 3.
B: JUST egg cup & PP shake
L: ???
D: going to try my hand at an egg free chicken salad...it uses cottage cheese instead of mayo or miracle whip. Hoping it'll be good.
S: as you can tell today is a fly by the seat of my pants day.

I am happy to hear that the pain clinic adjusted your meds. I hope it keeps working. I am sure as you get use to the drug the high feeling will recede a bit.

Mel,
In my experience taking meds for pain, it takes time for the body to adjust to a new dose, or a new meds. The feeling "high" often goes away after a few days to a few weeks. Also - increasing rapidly form a small amount to a 6 x the original amount is very rapid. When I start increasing any type f medication, I do it gradually, trying to double it first, then increase to more over a few days.
The only time I don't mind a rapid increase if its before bed, and I know I can sleep off any "unpleasant" high (I hate the feelings what other people call "high")
Sometimes when I am hurting really badly, I would double my dose but I would wait at least 30 min if not 1 hours before I take the second dose of the medication. That way my body can have time to adjust.

I agree that it's a rapid increase. It leaves my head feeling funny and I can't walk straight for 10 or so minutes. Granted it was like this with the original dosage I was given. I have to lay down to let it melt in my mouth.
I HATE the feeling too! I've never been drunk and tried pot a few times but never found the appeal in recreational drugs...better yet hard street drugs. My uncle and dad were alcoholics and had varying degrees of drug addiction. I'm guessing that's why I hate the feeling the most and what has been hard for me to accept with this pain. To even be half way functional I have to be someone else...if that makes sense. I wish I could try edibles for pain now but alas Texas is Texas.
thanks for the reply!
