I don't think there's anything efarious about people not continuing to update their tickers. I think it's a great motivation in the active losing phase, especially if you are laser focused on the goal and possibly being overly restrictive. It's the psychological boost you need then.
I had my monthly loss on there for a long time because I thought it was helpful for the people that might have misconceptions on what is "normal" weight loss early on due to watching some of the various TV shows.
I don't update now because weight is guardrail for me not a goal. I weigh daily because that helps me to identify things I might do differently. My goal 4+ years out is a fit and healthy lifestyle which also means not only focusing on the number itself but on all the things that go into and around it - measurements, lab results, physical, regular exercise in support of all those things!
I think it's really important for people to find how they define success in their new lifestyle once reaching the goals of their program.

I didn't think there was anything untoward happening but as a yo-yo dieter over the years I think I wanted the reassurance that others had succeeded and kept the weight off. However through reading posts and general updates I was able to see that many (most) remain committed and successful long term. Which helps with maintenance anxiety. I agree with you on the other points you made and that weight is a guardrail to keep you from veering off the road. I appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is recovering from the long weekend. Mine was very nice with our trip to Montana. I was able to go over to the ancestral home to help with the packing up. The house has been in my FILs family for over 100 years, it is an old concrete construction with 12 inch thick walls that are crumbling. Me and DD started clearing out 2 rooms and found some pretty cool antique toolboxes, tools, and other fun stuff that we are keeping. DH is concerned with our packrat ways since our house is also full to brimming over with stuff. My neighborhood has an annual yard sale so I am going to go through my house to find things to sell, we may also sell some items we found at the family home. I need to go back to Montana again to go through more rooms. It is fun to see what you can find, sometimes disappointing not to find more antiques. I didn't do any structured workouts while there but did get in a couple of long walks but purposely being dropped off and having to walk to a destination. Food wasn't exactly on point but not overly terrible maybe a few more calories than usual.
QOTD: I use to be an avid diet coke drinker before surgery and turned my nose up to coffee and tea. However I did enjoy an occasional Frappuccino from Starbucks. Now, no more frappes and diet cokes. I have not had carbonation since surgery. My drink of choice is a cold brew coffee in the morning. Otherwise I drink water with crystal light type flavoring the rest of the day. I like passion tea otherwise not really a tea drinker.
B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, cold brew with half n half
L: lettuce salad with grilled chicken, ff french dressing
S: root beer protein "frosty"
D: Thai beef salad
S: 100 cal bag popcorn, 3 squares sf chocolate
E: 30 min HIIT, 30 min bands
Have a great day!

Carbonation post WLS seems to be one of those things that varies program to program

I love the crystal light squeeze bottles and use them constantly. I always try to keep a handful of bottles. What flavor do you like? I used to be exclusive to cherry but have been on a blue raspberry kick. I found tangerine on clearance but didn't like that one.

I also love the squeeze bottles since it is so much easier to mix into water. However, I do like the crystal light peach mango powder with caffeine. Otherwise, my current favorites are tropical coconut, mango passionfruit. I did try some of the Tang orange that is very good. I also like some of the store brand flavors like the Signature Brand (Safeway) tangerine orange, pineapple mango, raspberry black tea, and strawberry watermelon. I also purchase some from the Kroger brand that are good. So much less expensive than Crystal Light. Oh, I also purchased a Arizona mucho mango that was amazing but at $4 a bottle wont purchase unless on sale. I have also seen that there is a root beer flavor available, might be A&W that I haven't tried yet.

Mornin' All!
Right now Curbside Bicycles has their (tune-up and minor repair) shop set up in my driveway (they work in Madison, the Chicago area, and in the winter, somewhere in Arizona), and I'm waiting to see if I'm approved to take an African American music class that I just noticed on the schedule of classes the other day. It started today, but it's online, so I should be able to catch up. The other two classes I registered for don't start until the last week of June. We're supposed to get heavy storms this afternoon, so I'll probably stay home and make a WW yogurt pie and some protein muffins. So...not a terribly exciting day.
QOTD: I drink brewed coffee in the morning and, since i got back from Italy, Italian coffee (either regular or decaf) in the afternoon, made in my moka pot. I do like tea, but I don't drink it very often. I mostly drink coffee and flavored water.
B: plain skyr with strawberry/rhubarb compote, coffee with half & half
MS: more coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: tuna/chickpea salad on 35-calorie bread
AS: cottage cheese with mandarin oranges (canned - a friend gave me two cans of them - not sure what else to do with them)
D: Indian bean curry or Caprese salad
ex: will probably do some youtube fitness video later on today
have a great day, everyone!

G'morning all!
Yippee for short week. We had a great weekend. Friends came to visit and it was nice hosting people like in years past, before Covid. The husband is British with a very dry typical British sense of humor and he cracks me up. When we went SUPing, he hadn't brought a wetsuit. He thought he could borrow from DH forgetting the fact that he is 6'2", while DH is 5'9" on a good day. He came out wearing the spring suit (short sleeves and short bottoms) and I couldn't stop laughing. He threatened me with my life if I took a pic of him. We had a great time anyway. Yesterday we did about 14 miles of bike from Seaside to Monterey, on a trail along the coast. Some uphills but worth the scenery. The reward was eating at Panera after the bike ride.
QOTD: I wasn't a big coffee drinker before WLS, but now coffee is my drink. Cold, hot, anyway you can think of it I'll have it. During cold months of the year I'll have also tea in the afternoon, otherwise coffee all day and sometimes even at night.
My meals yesterday :
- Coffee & Barebells bar
- Epic chicken
- Chicken avocado sandwich (no bread) with some sort of chipotle sauce, small bag of chips, one bite of choc chip cookie
- Jello, 4-5 peanut M&M
- E: 14 miles bike
Happy taco Tue!
