I never want to make my staff uncomfortable, so I go out of my way to give them tons of space but they always invite me to everything - it's weird!

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,

Having all the accoutrements without the coffee vessel is perhaps the cruelest trick a hotel can play short of not having a bed in the room.

I have a follow up appointment with the bariatric nurse practitioner today. I am discussing starting on phentermine. Does anyone have any experience with phentermine post surgery? I am having a hard time losing weight and not being able to exercise much. I have 25lbs to go until I can set up an appt at the orthopedic surgeon for hip replacement. Honestly though, my eating choices can be better especially snacking off-plan. Real talk though, my eating habits have changed 180 since I started this process and my health is much improved. I feel good about all the changes I've made even if I'm not quite there yet.

I also have a commitment as treasurer for my local club today to do the monthly finances. I'm looking forward to getting out of my head for a couple hours and taking care of business.

QOTD: I visited a childhood friend on a farm in Galena, IL when I was in high school. He put together a functional workout gym out of non conventional equipment. It was a hoot (proper word choice) to see his dog run on the makeshift treadmill led by the promise of a treat 'carrot and stick' method.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.

L: 1/2 corned beef sandwich.

D: Leftover chopped salad.

S: light string cheese.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

I work with Bariatric surgical group for my job. It is recommended that those post-op patients who stall or struggle with weight loss should seek help sooner than later. There are a variety of medications that can be prescribed to assist with getting started again. Several antidepressants are a choice. It does seem as if you are struggling with some anxiety (is this a food trigger for you?). Perhaps this should be addressed also. Good job on the improvements you have made so far.

Thanks for the response. I'm actively addressing my anxiety and depression, which have been a struggle previously. My meeting with the nurse practitioner went well. She prescribed phentermine and a follow up appt in a month.

I do not have experience with that but I'm wishing you the best!

There is no two journeys the same with these surgeries. You are staying accountable to yourself. You acknowledge when you can improve and that's a great thing!

G'morning all!

Jen, lack of coffee is ground for a HUGE discount on room charges. How dare they?

Back at the airport again, actually I'm between airports (in Houston) going back home. Had such a great time with DD. Watched both of her shows and I think she was brilliant. I love city/DC life. The museums are just endless and so many things to do and places to eat. I scheduled one museum a day: Holocaust museum, the African History, and the Natural History. DD has become a total foodie and took me to all of her favorite places: general middle eastern dinner on the first night, Turkish brunch, Lebanese dinner and Spanish dinner the following nights.

QOTD: for me the strangest thing is the actual packing and planning for gym while traveling. I would have never done this 5-6 years ago. I always check the hotel's gym online to see what to bring, or if at an Airbnb I check the jogging paths nearby. I guess last Oct in Italy I took my bands with me so that I would still follow my trainer's routine. I had told her to give me only band workouts because couldn't take my weights with me.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee & starbucks egg bites
  • quest protein bar
  • Spanish tapas (no idea how many plates we went through)
  • E: 28,863 steps.

Happy Taco Tue!
