What's on your Monday menu, RNYers?
on 5/16/22 3:28 am
Here we go into another week!! Can you believe it's mid-month already? May is flying by!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mine was very nice, a great mix of getting things done, spending some times with friends and relaxing a bit. Did everyone stay up to see some of the lunar eclipse? We watched the new Dr. Strange on Friday, I liked it but I did scream a few times, it's a little scary...other people jumped too but there's a possibility that it was because of my screaming, lol.
QOTD - do you like scary movies? I don't like ones that are gory or rely on cheap jump-scares but if it's good and psychologically scary, I migh****ch it during the day! I am a big chicken though and my nephews usually see anything scary and tell me if it's appropriate for me or not, lol.
menu is a bit up in the air due to some work stuff today but I'll start with
coffee plus half and half X2
Ozery plus PB
barebells bar
TBD after that
Not sure if I will be able to get back on and read later today so just in case, hope everyone has a great day!

Good mornin everyone.
My weight was up 3 pounds this mornin. Hello TOM...LOL
I have my mammogram this morning. I've been up since midnight and my legs have been restless and very sore, not able to get back to sleep. We'll have the kids after school. School is getting close to being out. We'll be having them A LOT more during the summer.
The time I fell asleep was during the eclipse but my mom at least took a picture for me.
QOTD: nope, not at all!
B: almond flour pancakes, 1tbs maple syrup & caffeinated water
L: GF chicken nuggets
D: ???
S: cheese & ???

Mornin' All -
we're B-A-A-C-K! Fantastic trip - best vacation we've ever been on. And after all that pizza, gelato, limoncello, and fancy Italian pastries, I figured my weight would be through the roof. Nope - not too bad - only 2 lbs up. Must have been all the walking (some days around 30K steps) and stair climbing. I swear there wasn't a day while we were on the Amalfi Coast that we didn't climb at least 600 stairs!! Hopefully that weight will be gone by next week. I'm glad to be back to it!
summer course registration starts today. So far I've only gotten permission to register for one of the three classes I wanted to take (all three are film classes - different summer sessions). I'm tempted to request permission for a backup course (or two...), but most of the times when I've done that, permission for the originally requested course FINALLY came through, and then I was stuck with a jillion classes (although at least I'm auditing - it'd be way worse being in too many classes if I was taking them for credit!). Maybe I'll give it a few more days since the first summer session doesn't start for another week.
QOTD: I like psychological thrillers, but not gory, slasher types. So in other words, yes - sort of. It depends on what kind of scary.
B: chaffles topped with plain Greek yogurt and strawberry/rhubarb compote. Coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: cottage cheese with mandarin oranges
AS: protein muffin
D: either pasta with tomato pesto, or a Caprese-like salad
ex: biking! It'll be a beautiful week for it!
have a great day, everyone!
Sounds like a great trip!

Did you swim in the Mediterranean? I've swam in the Adriatic but never the Mediterranean.

no - we actually didn't even hang out on the beach, even though it was right under our apt (about 200 steps down. The village was built up the side of a mountain). We had a huge balcony with FANTASTIC views, though, so no need to go downstairs to the beach (besides, the beach there wasn't the white sandy variety...) . Here are some pics from the balcony of our apartment.

Glad to hear you had a great time! So, according to you and Sheila, sounds like I just need to move to Italy! I'll get all those steps in and I can eat whatever I want!

that thought crossed my mind - especially after talking to an ex-pat at the Naples airport (he now lives in Italy most of the year - but he goes back to Pennsylvania once in awhile). He bought some property there a few years ago (in Italy) and moved. After a few years, you can apply for permanent residency - and then after a few more years, citizenship. He said he's not going to go for citizenship, though, because as a permanent resident, he can do pretty much everything except vote. Hmmm...
