That is really so funny. The main reason I am in a tanning bed is to not have white legs. He was not worried about that.

Bio freeze is so good!

I think you DH and I might be separated at birth siblings. Has he done any of the dna things because I know my dad got around, lol. I'm always the one covered head to toe, under the umbrella with a towel covering everything!

LOL, he did. He is mostly Irish and British, with some Slav and even a little Italian. But the Italian part must not be strong in him.
And I can report his mom and dad are his biological mom and dad! ;^)

I love to sit on the beach and watch the waves come in. Soothing sounds and sights. I am like your DH, very white and burn. No tanning here just burns and freckles. When I was younger I would go to the tanning salon where my "tan" was the starting color for my friends. Remember the little stickers you could place on your body each time you went so you could track your progress? Now I just use sunscreen and embrace my pale skin.

I have never done a tan booth.
Growing up with my friends we would go to our local beaches and literally be like rotisserie chickens; turning around every 30 minutes to tan all angles. And we used baby oil to speed up the tanning process. Yup, we were that crazy.

I use sunscreen and then a lotion called Maui Babe. It is from Hawaii and made with coffee. It turns my white skin a pretty shade of tan after I use it a few times.

I am Irish and have sympathy for your husband. I have had sunburnt toes and they were sore for about a week. I had planned to be in the pool one day, but it was too cold and my sister and I took a long walk instead. I did not think to put sunscreen on my toes and was wearing sandals. My early beach memories are of bright red, blistered, peeling skin. There was no sunscreen when I was growing up. I always wanted to be tan. Now I can be tan if I take my time, use plenty of sunscreen, and limit time in the sun. I really know that the healthiest thing would be to stay out of it completely. But sometimes I balance health and pleasure. If I go to a summer wedding, I usually get a spray tan for the occasion.

Not just sunburn at the beach (I lived in Montana thus no beach) but in the yard as a kid. Mom telling me to come inside before I burned, me ignoring her. Me getting blistered all over my shoulders and nose. Peeling for days after it started to heal. It is a wonder I dont have skin cancer. I am now trying to be better now (well mostly my face because who wants dry wrinkled skin?).

Good morning! Brrrrr it' chilly and windy here! I'm set up with the heater on and cup of hot fake coffee and figuring out my day. We leave for Europe in 1 week. I realized last night I need a couple very small things like a travel razor, so I am debating walking to Target and back this morning. About 4 miles. Yesterday I did two back to back power walks, getting in just shy of 5 miles and my legs are sore today. I don't want to go today, but I am really trying to move everyday until we leave. I'm still a few more pounds than I want to be so I'd like the wiggle room before take off.

I had a great Mother's Day with my first power walk by myself, then a fast walk with the dogs to the dog park. Reading and relaxing and then the kids and grand kids came over for tacos and wine. Hard to beat a day like that. I hope all you Mama's of 2 and four legged littles had a wonderful day as well.

QoTD: Either Halloumi cheese or this sauce our local butcher shop makes. It's called No Mas Tomas, and it seems to be a mix of sour cream, cilantro, and jalapeno, maybe some lime. They sell it in these 16 oz deli containers and I drizzle it on about everything. Eggs, beans, potatoes. Just yum. Maybe Jen and I could hook up and we can dip her bacon wrapped, peanut butter stuffed jalapeno bites in it?

Menu today. Freezer diving continues. It's looking like a bachelor fridge/freezer about now. The fridge is down to cheese, sparkling water and lots of cheeses basically. But there are still eggs, so that is starting out my day.

B: 1 fried egg, 2 pieces frozen, reheated bacon.

L: spaghetti squash with Italian sausage, peppers and cheese that I found in the bottom of the freezer

D: Trader Joe's orange chicken and some left over rice from dinner the other day.

Peace Everybody!
