What's on your Saturday menu?

Good mornin weekend folks!

Not much planned today. The only thing I HAVE to do is pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy. I am throughly beat. The past few days I've been so tired. It's safe to say the methadone isn't doing much for me other than drowsiness. I see the pain management NP Tuesday. Also hoping to find out more about a new neurosurgeon. I'm getting anxious. I guess it's safe to say I hate waiting so much...LOL

Also my laptop died. No hopes to get another one any time soon.

QOTD: do you ever play the predictive text prompts on social media? Let's try that here...if your game! Using the middle suggestion on your text prompts make a sentence using the following prompt. Type I am so over...

I am so over the weekend of august so so much fun and I'll let you know if we want it fixed.

B: cheerios and almond milk + coffee

L: ???

D: boneless pork ribs

S: yogurt and ???

Mornin' All!

I went and had a PCR test yesterday even though I don't need one to enter Italy since I'm fully vaxxed and have uploaded my CDC card to the airline site ( and it was approved). But they do test you if you appear to have symptoms. I do have some cold-like symptoms, which is common for me this time of year. But nope - negative test result. Whew. I just wanted to be reassured in case someone notices my sniffling and requires me to test. So anyway, I will be masked whenever I leave the house this weekend!

today will involve printing off a few more things for the trip and picking up something for these damn ants that are still in my kitchen. I put out some borax mixed in peanut butter a couple of days ago, and the population is definitely down, but there are still a few around. I don't want to leave peanut butter out for the two weeks we'll be gone, so I'll need to get some Grants for Ants (or whatever commercial thing the store has).

QOTD: I am so over.... not sure I understand this, but I think this pertains to typing this on a smartphone - I know sometimes it tries to complete my sentences. I almost never use my smartphone for OH (or for anything on the Web), I'm always on my laptop, which doesn't do auto complete - but I'll try editing this on my smart phone when I'm done and see if it does the auto complete (and let you know what it says!)

B: I'm getting tired of plain Greek yogurt with fruit compote, but I may have it again just to use up the opened carton of yogurt (I either make plain Greek yogurt or buy one of those big (2-4 lb) containers of it). Coffee with half & half.

MS: protein shake

L: DH has floated the possibility of going to an Indian buffet with his mother. I'm tempted - but I may just finish up the leftover Indian bean curry we have here

AS: a couple of Baby Bell mini cheese thingies and cole slaw made with Asian-style dressing

D: ??

have a great day, everyone!

just checked - my smart phone doesn't do auto complete when I'm typing anything on OH (I know it does for some things, though - but not this)

Good morning from my husband and my friend and I have been here since we had been there. Predictive text. Lol.

gorgeous day here. My son arrived yesterday and we had friends over for dinner, drinks and campfire. Everything was just perfect. Felt very blessed and woke up feeling the same way this morning. Today is bike ride, reading, sunshine and maybe jacuzzi.

B. Breakfast quiche

L: Ahi in mango salsa and a pistachio green salad we are trying to reinvent from a restaurant we all ate at in Vegas

D. My son packed his pizza oven and the rest of the kids are coming, so pizza all around and S'mores. I'll do toppings and maybe some of the pistachio salad if there is any left over.

My goal today is to limit myself to one glass of wine by the campfire.

Peace Everybody!

I would like to know more about this pistachio salad, if you replicate it! I'm assuming it's not the one with pudding and whip cream (although that's pretty delish too, lol).

When I get to a real computer Tuesday I will send you the recipe. It turned out excellent. All fresh and light. No pudding or whip cream involved for this one. Perfect summer salad!

QOTD. That feature doesn't work on my old iPad unless I am doing a Spanish lesson. And then I am not sure what they mean.

We had 4 and a half inches of rain over about an hour yesterday. Up until the there had been no rain for over a month. I hope this means rainy season is starting early. It lasts til October here. Daily Rains are intense for an hour and then the sun comes out. It's almost never cloudy here for more than a few hours.

My legs are still killing me, but I can walk now. Yay steroids! Melody, I am interested your experience with methadone. Pain management has mentioned that as an option for me. They wanted to give me belebuca but at an out of pocket cost of $900 a month that is not an option. The old school generics that I use now are practically free, the cost is so low.

Menu. Cottage cheese and fresh fruit. Protein shake, mixed nuts as a snack. Dinner is Chinese take out that clients brought to me today. They are always bringing food and I almost always give it away. But this looked and smelled delish so that is what I am having.

I am not seeing much relief with the methadone if any at all. I have had a hard time finding anything that works. BUT everyone is different...I've heard it works for a lot of people. I'm just an unlucky one.

I see the pain clinic Tuesday and I'm hoping for some miracle. My back and legs are hurting so much this weekend that I've been nauseated.

Thanks for the reply Melody. I need something more and doctor mentioned some others as well we could try. I really like this doctor, much better than others, he is determined to make me functional. Some problems are neurotoxicity from chemo eight years ago. I should not complain as it saved my life and Oncologist says I am cured. The other issues are autoimmune in nature and wonder if that came from chemo as well? No way to tell. I have been spared back pain so far and am very thankful for that.

You are going thru some awful times. I will send good vibes for your clinic to help next week with something effective!
