Do you have any master gardeners or a county extension program nearby? They could help you do a low maintenance plan suitable for your region, even if it's more xeriscape than desert scape.

Good morning all and Happy Friday Eve,

We almost made it through another week! Food has been on point this week. Last night, I had to bring my father clothes in rehab. That was a four hour round trip in rush hour that I would have rather avoided. However, I know my father was uncomfortable in the clothes he had. My sleep schedule is messed up and I'm going to try holding off on taking a nap today.

QOTD: I'm a fourth generation die hard Chicago Cubs fan. It takes a certain kind of misery to be married to a team with so much losing. However, they won the world series in 2016 and I wasn't sure if I would see a championship within my lifetime.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.

L: Chicken Salad.

D: Chicken Skewers.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

I'm sure he appreciated your rush hour battle but no fun either way!

unfortunately, my father was in a severe stage of Alzheimer's when the Cubs were in the world series, and he was also a lifelong, diehard fan. We told him again and again that the Cubs were in the world series - and made sure the TV was on and tuned in the game when we were in his room. If only for a moment he had his mental faculties back - he would have been absolutely thrilled!

I read recently about a man in Ukraine with Dementia. He has to learn every day that his country is at war.

that doesn't surprise me at all. My father didn't know where he was at during his last few months. Sometimes he thought he was in a church, and sometimes he thought he was at his office (he'd retired 20 years earlier).

I had a triple bypass heart surgery in 2016. My mother, who was 93 and still loved to shop went and bought me a supply of comfortable clothes for rehab. I had gained close to 20 pounds of water weight after the surgery and nothing in my house would have fit me. I so much appreciated having those workout clothes. I know how happy you made your father yesterday.
