Wednesday, we meet again! What's on your menu today?
Good morning, everybody!
I am definitely bottom left. Staying up too late watching TV. Which is another reason why I feel like I dodged a visit on the in-law visit. They don't find our children's old beds to be comfortable (and they probably aren't), so they prefer to sleep on the couches in our TV room. But they also like to go to sleep at like 9:30. Since I don't sleep 8 hours a night, If I go to sleep at 9:30, I will wake up in the middle of the night raring to go.
This has turned out to be a slow week at work, as I expected. Hopefully Friday will be a quasi day off.
QOTD: I think that I am a little too old for Muppets. I think that the Muppet heyday was in the early 80's. I was already 14-15 at that time which is an age where you don'****ch very much TV. I know that my younger sister loved Miss Piggy. With that said, I will go with the two crabby guys like Amy said.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Lunch: Steak
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!

Mornin' All!
I have a meeting this morning from 10-noon, then it's back over to Mom's. I need to have a serious discussion with her about how much help she's going to need, because starting Monday, neither my sister nor I want to have these 12-hour shifts anymore. If she still wants/needs someone there 24/7, then we'll get some home health in there to fill gaps. My sister and I are willing to go over there 2-3 hours a day, but not 12. But if Mom doesn't feel like she needs someone there 24/7 after this week, maybe we can just get someone there in the morning to help her with dressing and bathing, and sis and I can pop in later in the day to fix her lunch and dinner and keep her company for a couple of hours. We're both OK with that.
and yes - parents can be stubborn! Yesterday I wanted to see if she could get in her SUV because she has two doctor's appts coming up. She tried and obviously needs something to boost her up another couple of inches, so sis brought a stool over yesterday evening. I wanted them to try again with the stool (because we also have to make sure she can swing her legs in), but she refused and said she'll be fine with the stool. I'm not so sure. If she's unable to swing her legs into the car, then we have a problem and will have to call a transport service with a wheelchair lift. So I'm going to really push her to try again today to see if she can do it, because if not, I'll still have time to arrange a service. I will NOT have time if we wait until 30 minutes before her appt and discover she can't swing her legs again. But I guess if she refuses, it's not my problem. We tried...
QOTD: I was a couple years too old when Sesame Street premiered in 1969 (but my younger sibs watched it), so I rarely watched it - but I guess Oscar? I liked Bert & Ernie, too. Well, all of them, really..
B: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein latte
L: protein muffin

ex: I was going to do a youtube video this morning, but I may not have time. Maybe I can walk the halls of my mom's building when she's napping this afternoon (I'd walk outside, but they're calling for severe thunderstorms this afternoon...)
have a great day, everyone!
Trish - you got me curious and I looked this up.
When I answered QOTD, I was thinking that the only puppets eligible to be referred to as Muppets were those who appeared exclusively on the Muppet Show, which aired 1976-1991, I think. I thought of the Sesame Street muppets as being entirely different characters. Hence, you find me saying I was too old for Muppets when I was 100% in the Sesame Street demographic. (Born 1966)
Upon research, the Muppets predate both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. Kermit the Frog actually debuted in the 1950's.
Sesame Workshop, a non-profit corporation formerly known as Children's Broadcasting purchased the Sesame Street Muppets from the overall Muppets in 2001. Then in 2004, Disney acquired the Muppet Show (presumably fro Jim Henson's estate?). Hence, I believe that Miss Piggy is actually now owned by Disney. Snuffleupagus should be owned by Sesame Place.
The Old Crabby guys are now corporate owned to the chagrin of Amy and I.
However, this is all kind of Moot because Matt nailed QOTD by picking Animal.

G'morning all!
Jen, that's so nice of you to drive that far for your dad. Stubborn parents raise even more stubborn children!
I mourn after I finish a series because it takes me an eternity to get into another one. Unless somebody recs something, otherwise I look and look and look and don't choose anything.
QOTD: we didn't have the muppets growing up, I guess it didn't translate well? I saw them here with my kids, here and there, but never got into them. I couldn't say one character from another. Sesame Street though, I always loved Cookie Monster. It bugged me that he wasted half the cookies but loved him anyway.
My meals yesterday :
- Coffee
- Chicken curry
- Quest chips, PP + iced coffee
- Innards of two street tacos
- E: 5 miles jog
Happy hump day!

Happy Wednesday
I am lower right. I endlessly look unless I have something in mind to watch. Sometimes will select a show then only allow 5 minutes of viewing before making a decision. Right now I am preferring short 1/2 hour comedies. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery? I have Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime.
We have been having problems with our fire alarms randomly going off. I guess it started last week while I was on vacation. DH and DS replaced all the batteries, cleaned the alarms of dust and they still randomly alarm. Last night it started again, around midnight we finally got the ladder out to take them down and disconnect from electrical. It may be that they are so old that they need to be replaced (it is recommended that they be changed every 10 years and they are 16 now). DH has ordered new fire alarms. I hope that will correct the problem. I don't like to be without the alarms, but we also need to sleep!
QOTD: Aren't the Muppets from Sesame Street? Ernie, Kermit, and the Cookie Monster are my favorites. Big Bird is also awesome.
