Good morning Jen and Menuers,
Parent check? If you still got them Which ones and what are there ages? I only have My Mother Left. She is 83 she smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day and drinks 1/2 gallon of the cheapest scotch she buys in a plastic bottle a week. I am fortunate to have a brother who shares in the responsibility and he keeps me in check when I want to squeeze her by the neck.
For the Meme I am bottom right.

My Mom is 79. She surprised us by saying that she was not going to come out for my Son's graduation next month. I don't think that it is COVID, more just how she is feeling n general.

Don't give up on her. Is transportation the issue you think? I know I say the things that drive me Crazy about my mom however she is very active. She still drives, she's in two bowling leagues and plays Eucher every Wednesday at the Sons of Italy. Try to get her to come even if you have to bribe her.

Both of my parents are gone - mom 5 years next month and Dad 4 years last month. It's amazing to me the lifetime smokers/drinkers who live so long! I had a great aunt that smoke unfiltered cigarettes and drank whiskey every day until she was 95 or so.

Both my parents are still alive. Mom is 76, former smoker but in pretty good shape with the usual joint problems plus a bad back that does limit some activities. Dad is 85, he has always been health conscious and works out daily. He is young at heart.
My MIL is 83, she uses a walker due to bad joint and has some memory issues. FIL 95, he was admitted to the hospital yesterday for a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and pericardial effusion (fluid in the sac around the heart). This morning they had to emergently remove the fluid from around the heart since his heart rate dropped (to 20), he was ashen and gray. Doing better post procedure. Mentally the has zero deficits, does have joint issues (age related). Unfortunately, this COVID quarantining has not been kind to either of the in-laws as they have become anti-social (not wanting to leave the house or do anything) and increased their immobility. We are so very fortunate to have both of them still in our lives.

I had a customer call to let me know his mom passed away and stop sending supplies. I asked if she was sick long, he said Oh last Saturday she took a turn and passed the following Saturday. She was 102. I'd take that and especially she lived in her own home with little assistance from her kids. I think she won that end-of-life battle.
95 is a ripe age. I hope he pulls through for you MIL's sake.
