Good morning and happy Monday! Welcome to the week ahead! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
i am headed to the office after my 6 am Pilates and as i was getting ready yesterday I was asking myself ?how did I do this every day for years??I couldn?t decide what I?m wearing so I have two full sets of clothes in the car to decide after my workout. Meeting some colleagues for lunch at a really good Indian restaurant.
i got 75 percent of my new exercise space put together, realized I could not move the rower down the stairs on my and actually didn?t try it. I ended up with three workouts on Saturday (my trainer and the one each with my new smart boxing gloves and one with the 6lb smart medicine balls) so yesterday, I could barely walk!! I did an easy arms workout yesterday with the ball to try to stay loose. Not sure it worked, lol.
QOTD - Do you play any of the browser based games like Wordle? I?m playing Wordle, Worlde (Wordle but geography), Quordle (4 wordles at onece) and Framed (Wordle but for movie scenes). There?s also a Wikipedia trivia game NPR recommended that I play occasionally.
menu today
coffee plus half and half x3
skyr+small glass milk
lunch - a few pieces of their tempura cauliflower, naan and probably chicken tikka
Dinner - left over lunch or Deli Turkey breast slices with cheese
hope it?s a great day everyone!

Mornin' All!
back over to Mom's this morning. I'm getting super tired of this. She was texting me from bed last night (around 7:00 pm) wondering where I was and that I had to come back over because she couldn't walk, obviously unaware that my sister was sitting in her living room. ARRRGGGHH. I'm hoping that maybe we can get home health over there to cover some of the hours. I can't continue with 12-hour days over there. It's boring and I'm eating too much when I'm there because I'm bored out of my skull. I'm also going to have to secure transport for her for a couple of upcoming appts this week and next. There's pretty much no way she's going to be able to get into a car - or even my sister's SUV. I don't know how else we're going to get her there unless we can get a transport from one of those services that takes elderly folks and people with disabilities to doctor's and dentist's appts. I hear they fill up fast, so I'll need to get on the horn this morning.
I have my book discussion group at 10:00 this morning and hope I can get away from Mom's for a couple of hours. I actually have something every day this week - some meetings more important than others. We're going to have to come up with something because I really can't live like this. Plus she was so frickin crabby yesterday I just wanted to get up and leave. I know she's in pain but...really.
anyway, sorry to go on and on, but this has pretty much been my life for the last few days.
QOTD: I'm totally addicted to Wordle and Quordle. I did Wordle (the geography one) a couple of times but I'll go back to doing it again now that you mentioned it. I'd forgotten about it. Plus these things will keep my mind occupied while I'm over at my mother's. I do online crossword puzzles sometimes, too (Washington Post - although they actually get theirs from the LA Times).
B: probably skyr with cherry/cranberry compote. Coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake. If I make it to the book group, the host always brings some kind of homemade baked good, which I'm hoping I can resist
L: not sure. I hate not being home because it's really screwing up my eating plans. I'll take more yogurt over there, but I'm getting a bit yogurted out. I bought some Wasa thin rye crackers yesterday because I've been eating my mother's. They're pretty filling because of the fiber - so maybe a couple of those as well (40 calories for two crackers - and they're pretty big)
AS: ??
D: I made asparagus soup last night, so maybe that - with some kind of protein
ex: if I have the time and inclination before I head over to Mom's, I'll do a youtube video (or maybe I can do it while I'm there??). Otherwise, it'll be a nice day today, so maybe I can take a walk while she's napping, or head down to the fitness center at her independent living complex - I noticed there's a treadmill and an exercise bike in there.
have a great day, everyone!
Call the number on back of her medical insurance card and see what services the insurance company provides. I have Medicare Advantage plan and get housekeeping, home care visits, and transportation to doctors at no cost. I rarely use it, but it is good to know it is available. If I have an appointment where I don't feel comfortable driving in ice and snow or for other reasons it is good to have those services available,

Can you do something with your mom while you are there? Puzzles, adult coloring books, read to her? Might keep you from being board and help her too.

Looks like someone has got a case of the Mondays. Hello all and Happy Monday,
Weekend was stressful. I'm having a hard time right now. This year has been filled with too much death. Recently, I've lost my 41 year old good friend who was a big part of my support system. She passed of brain cancer and outlived her prognosis. My 94 year old grandma is currently being moved to hospice to get comfortable. My 72 year old father is in the hospital. My father should be getting discharged today and then I have to arrange a Medicar to take him to visit his mother.
My eating has not been great. It has not been horrible but I'm making bad decisions when purchasing snacks. Last trip to the store, I did avoid picking up cookies, of which I included on my grocery list. I'll take a little win.
B: Hard boiled eggs, tangerine.
L: corned beef.
D: Chicken salad.
S: microwave popcorn
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

I am sorry that you are going through all of that. As I told Trish, seniors often have a lot of benefits that they are not even aware of. See what your father's insurance offers for rides and other help care. Although they would not pay to visit his mother, there may be times when it is the best choice for you.
