T-Rex gets assistive devices to head into the weekend, go t-Rex!

Happy way too early Friday morning! But I am up, I have coffee and I'm watching Top Chef so it's already a great start!

Busy morning at work, then not a lot this afternoon so it's a good way to wrap up the week; I'll be able to set up for Monday nicely.

QOTD - what is something that you are looking forward to this weekend that makes you happy? I am meeting two of my girl gang for dinner tonight and I can't wait; I haven't seen them since early December! We have to plan our long weekend in Vegas in July for another of our gang's 50th (she lives in Vegas so that's why we're going to the surface of the sun at it's hottest point). Time with them is always good for my soul.

This weekend, just a work out with my trainer, maybe a run to the grocery store, and then finishing my gym space. I have to get some sand for the base of the bag for boxing that I will need to set up. I'm sure it will end up a mess, lol.

Menu today

coffee plus half and half X2

scrambled egg with cheese

greek yogurt, cheese stick

dinner will either be the crusted goat cheese salad with filet skewer or filet with asparagus

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

My first bulb bloomed, it's spring!!! (snow predicted on Wednesday because it's spring!)

When you are reading about photo tips for Antarctica/penguins, they tell you to look for penguins doing something unusual. I understood the assignment.

G'morning all!

I never thought a T-Rex can put such a big smile on my face first thing in the morning, and your penguin pic is priceless!!! You def understood the assignment. I feel like they are saying "tourists again? Do I have to perform for them? I don't wanna!"

QOTD: we are looking at gorgeous warm weather here on the coast before Monday's rain. So there will be biking on the beach, a new restaurant to try, continuation of the garage reorg, convo with both kids about our family summer vacation, and just enjoying being alive and healthy. Yup, spring is in the air.

I consider this a personal victory that I had this loot around the house all week and I didn't touch anything. I admit I had a couple of Robin eggs while filling the Easter eggs, but the rest stayed untouched.

This is where it started.

DD's care package

DS's care package (he gets two stuffed animals; one for him one for his gf)

This is how it ended

Gotta say very proud of these. They will be mailed today so that they can get it by Tue/Wed.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee
  • Egg bites + cauliflower thins
  • Protein puff, coffee+PP, couple of Robin eggs
  • Skirt stake (DH's specialty)
  • E: 30 minutes cardio + 50 minutes weight training

Happy Fri-yay!

Oh, so many questions, what kind of new restaurant? Where are you thinking for family vacation? Those care packages are awesome and even though DS might take it for granted because you doesn't know awesome mom's like you are in short supply DD and DSGF will be thrilled!

This is the new restaurant in town we are gonna try. I hear his risotto is to die for, so I'll be the judge of that. I have a very discerning palate for risotto.
The summer plan is Costa Rica, in a very small town away from tourists. It will be rustic and hanging out with the locals. I hope DS doesn't blow up the plans by refusing to go on vacay.

Aaaw, thank you for the vote of confidence. I truly love making care packages because they make me feel close to my kids, by choosing items that I know they like or get a chuckle out of them.

I'm not a big gnocchi aficionado. But I'm sure DH will order them so I can report back.

I was 19 the first time I tasted gnocchi. It was from a boyfriend's plate because I thought that pasta made from potatoes would be disgusting. After one bite, I was hooked and order then anytime I am at a good Italian restaurant. There is a local company that sells theirs frozen and I always have some in the freezer. His familly pronounced it yonkey.

Family vacations come back with a vengeance once they have to start paying their own way if they don't go with the family.
