I kind of laughed at you being a one sided trex because of the arm brace. Definitely don't try to advance to your next step too fast!!

I remember trying some software where you speak and the computer types when I had pain in my wrist. It made so many mistakes that I went back to typing. I know I had some type of arm rest that helped a bit. The doctor thought I was developing carpal tunnel and I just wore the wrist brace if I had to type. I don't type a lot any more so it seems to have cured itself. The PT will help a lot.

Good morning! Had a great day yesterday and got in a good 2 mile power walk. I made good food choices throughout the day, but again had wine. I've got to get out of this "everything is a celebration mode" soon! After a fun dinner out with the dogs (street tacos...I ate about 1/3 the insides of 2 different types) we came home and I opened presents and cards from the weekend. Loved all the amazing comments in the cards. I feel very blessed.

Today, we are planning on taking the dogs for a walk. That's always just a stroll because there is so much sniffing going on. And then tonight we are meeting with our travel buddies to detail out the last of our trip next month. Coming so fast!

QoTD: weirdest one this week. My manicurist says to the people sitting near us "she's retiring this weekend after 38 years at her company, should I go to the party?" And the lady that was getting her toes done next to me says "38 years. Is this your first retirement?" I'm like What the actual hell? Do I look like I'm 85 and could have squeezed in two 38 year careers?

Menu:

B: cottage cheese and hb egg

L: left over taco innards

D: hamburger patty with cheese, no bun

Peace Everybody!

i bet the look on your face at that question was priceless. If I remember correctly, you are headed to Eastern Europe? Is that still the plan (or is that a different trip?)

Paris, and then Sofia, Bulgaria. We were also supposed to go to Romania, but I think we are cancelling that part. Pretty close to Ukraine and struggling under the weight of the refugees. So our last few days have to be planned out since we don't want to mess with our plane tickets at this point. It's looking like what ever we choose to do, it will be more about relaxing and recharging then sightseeing. One of our group has some mobility issues and she is going to be worn out. And what's not to love about the idea of sitting in a Paris cafe soaking up the surroundings?

I've never been to Bulgaria but I have seen pictures from a friend that worked in Sofia; it's lovely!

It is not that the lady thought you looked old. It is that most people get bored with retirement and start a new career after a few years of constant fun and traveling starts to get old.

GM and other companies I worked for had a 30 and out policy where you retire after 30 years and get your full pension paid by the company until you reach full retirement age. Many people start at 18, retire at 48, and then start a second career. Working 38 years for the same company is getting relatively rare. Having multiple retirements has become a thing.

They started giving me buyout offers when I turned 50, i stayed because I liked the work. When my husband passed away I felt like I wanted to enjoy what was left of life and retired at 61. Full retirement age was 67, After a few years, I started taking part time work and still do that.
