Pockets are the best! Did you see Becky G at the Oscars, we were mixed on the hip pad seashells on her dress until we realized they were pockets and then everyone was in.

I actually had the opposite reaction. I saw them in slow motion and thought wow, pockets. Then I saw a still pic of her with those seashells on her hips and thought...nah!

Good morning everybody!

I was planning to discuss Martha Stewart's animals, but that will have to wait until tomorrow because breaking news:

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10:00 CST. I will definitely go to the two Chicago Shows. That might be it this year however. Since my son will be at home, we aren't going out to Colorado. Also, my kids don't like smoke and Boulder with 60,000 people? Two years ago, I was supposed to go the Clarkston MI show with one of my co-workers. If she wants to go again I will go.

The one that I would really like to attend is July 6 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. I've never been to SPAC and would like to see it. Two problems though: first, its three days before we leave for Iceland and that will freak Marilyn out, and second, my friend who lives in Saratoga just bought a summer house on Cape Cod and will likely be spending the July Fourth week down there.

Also, I've never been to Gillette Stadium - we actually moved out to Chicago before it was built.

Aside from work and gym today, I am going to smoke a salmon.

QOTD: Deer, coyotes and foxes are the most that I am aware of. Jen, you forgot Mule Deer, we saw like 100 while we were in Boulder two weeks ago.

Breakfast: Sausage and cottage cheese

Lunch: Turkey

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

Good morning. Day two. What to do? I got in a great walk yesterday with a big hill. My legs are a little sore today, so the plan is a walk with less hill. Everybody is gone. My house is empty. Just the hubs and me. It. Is. Awesome. And it's truly the first day of retirement. We are planning to get some dinner tonight and open cards and relax. Of course the dishwasher and the coffee maker malfunctioned this morning, so that was an exciting start to the day. Rog thinks he's got them both handled though. Fingers crossed for the dishwasher! Don't care so much about the coffee pot.

QoTD: In our neighborhood, coyotes, possums and huge racoons. Like the size of 80 pound dogs. They run up and down our street at night and rumble and tumble and chirp and grunt and click. All sorts of vocalizations while they tackle each other and play. Pretty fun. But they are wicked smart, and it's a challenge to keep them out of the dog food storage containers.

Menu:

B: left over meat and cottage cheese

L: tbd

D: tbd One of these will be out to celebrate just Rog and I and the journey ahead.

II have done excellent on food this last week of constant celebrating. I have cooked what feels like dozens of fancy meals. I've had a house full of cakes and cookies and DORITOS! And, I have behaved myself. I have not had one time where I feel like I was out of control with food. But then, there was wine. While I did not allow myself a single old fashioned, there was way too much wine. And I will have a glass or two tonight to celebrate with just Rog. And then I shall step away from the wine glass for a couple of weeks. My weight has been pretty constant through all this and I am taking that for the win, but I do want to get these last couple of extra pounds off and I am confident with adding walks a few days a week and stepping away from wine for a bit, I can trim them off. Wish me luck!

Peace Everybody.
