What's on your Monday menu, RNYers
Sounds good.
I am actually booked out of Midway which would have been extra driving for you.

the bus goes to Midway, too - so that would have been OK. I did check flights out of there yesterday as well, and they weren't much cheaper, so I'm OK leaving from Madison. There were a lot of available seats on all four of my planes - and there's no longer a change fee - so if prices drop later on and I can get a better time for the same price, I'll switch. Otherwise, 7:30 PDT is the same as 9:30 CDT, and we won't be there long enough to get used to the time change - so maybe a 7:30 return flight (meaning getting to the airport around 6:00 or 6:30) won't be too tough. And again, there will probably be others with early morning flights, so I can probably share a ride with someone (although it's almost close enough to walk - although I have no clue if that's a walkable area or not...)
Once every couple of years, Marilyn buys one of the huge cherry pies from Costco and eats almost all of it herself over a week while telling us that she doesn't really like cherry pie. Then she's good for a few years more.

G'morning all!
I love starting Monday with such a positive vibe/meme. Thank you, Jen!
Does it show your age if the highlight of your weekend was cleaning out the garage? Asking for a friend!!! Seriously though, DH can't handle organizing the whole garage in one session, so we need to make a series out of it; one section at a time. I'm the opposite, I wanna pull out everything and just get it done. But his garage, his domain.
I also went and got tons of Easter stuff for the kids to get their care packages ready. So for this week my house is like a mine field full of chocolate. I tried getting mostly PB chocolates because those I wouldn't touch even if I were starving. Will post the pics of the final care packages on Fri. DH tells me I have more fun putting these together than kids receiving them. What can I say? It makes me feel close to them.
QOTD: I totally agree with HP and Dune, although they changed the sex of a character in Dune. How did the biologist become a woman in the movie while it was a man in the book? I know I saw something else recently that didn't match the book but I can't recall at the moment.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee & barebells bar
- Grilled salmon, asparagus and broccoli
- Coconut protein custard
- Protein puff
- E: Rest day
Happy start of the week!

I think they took a look at how few women and people of color were on screen and changed rapidly, lol. I am curious how/if they address impacts of that change in the general storyline in part 2z. Trying to be spoiler free there, lol

That was me reading the second and third book, thinking they need to twist themselves into a pretzel to explain that.
BTW, I'm on book IX (The battle of Corrin), and can't stop. The next trilogy will be the schools.

No, it just got badly written. They have been talking about that on hbo for a few years now. I know the pandemic has slowed a lot of things down but I think they've also has a few show runners leave so it does not seem to be going well. I know they talked about being very tied in with Denis Villianuve so it aligns with the movies, which made me excited. I will watch it if it does show up!

I was working in London when the first Harry Potter book came out. Everyone told me to read it. I remember reading it on the subway when passing King's Cross station. When the movie came out it was so realistic. I agree it is the best conversion ever from book to movie.
