Mornin' All!
didn't do much over the weekend other than exercised a couple of times and got my hair done. I spent a lot of time yesterday looking at flights to SNA (for the OH conference) and reading articles about flight prices. The lowest fare right now out of Madison is $501 - out of O'Hare it was $398, I believe. Supposedly according to Google Flights that's high - but who knows if prices are going to stabilize (or even drop a little), or keep going up (well, they WILL keep going up for the next couple of months due to fuel prices and increased demand - but no one's predicting what will happen after June). So..not sure what to do. Those prices aren't too outrageous, at least.
nothing on the agenda today other than exercise and read (there seems to be a lot of days like that lately...). I'm also waiting on a DVD to get to my local library so I can pick it up (and watch it, of course). One of my film discussion groups is meeting Friday, and I forgot about tracking down the film. Hopefully this thing will arrive soon (it's coming from another library in the system).
QOTD: I'll have to come back and fill this out. Nothing is coming to mind at the moment..
B: a cup of plain skyr with 3 T of cherry/cranberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: half a miso/chickpea sandwich, cole slaw with Asian-style dressing
AS: L&F, skinny bagel with light cream cheese
D: the other half of the miso/chickpea sandwich, small sweet potato with butter and Swerve brown sugar
have a great day, everyone!

I wouldn't expect flight to drop this year. Demand is picking up and they have eliminated a lot of routes

Good morning, everybody:
I was trying to reel in a Skipjack Tuna on our fishing trip last Wednesday and a big gust of wind blew off my hat into the ocean. Obviously the captain wasn't going to give up on a fish to get my hat, so its gone. It was only a sun hat that I think I got at Wal Mart, but I have had a lot of fun in it over the years.
Last night when we were home, I was using Marilyn's IPAD to look for a replacement. She comes up to me and says:
"what are you looking at?"
"Hats"
She replies in disbelief " Oh my God, your online friends have gotten to you!"
I said "what?"
You are becoming a "cat man"
"I said Hats not cats"
"Oh, thank goodness"
In any case, I'm back. Iv'e always thought that the people who say things like "you can't really get to know a place unless you stay there for 4 or 5 weeks" are either pompous jackasses or trustafarians with no real world responsibilities, but I will say that Hawaii from the Midwest is a long trip for just 6 days of vacation. I wish that we could have stayed another week.
Saturday we left Oahu at 4:30 their time and got to our house at 3:00 AM Central time. Yesterday went by really fast and now its Monday morning. We had a great time though.
Going to try and watch the carbs today, as I get back in the swing of things. We haven't gone grocery shopping yet.
Trish - Marilyn booked my OH conference flights this weekend, I will message or text you the details today.
QOTD: I will go with one of the old James Bond movies with Sean Connery.
Breakfast: Protein bar
Lunch: Burger
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

Jim - I ended up buying my ticket just now. Those better $501 tix out of Madison are disappearing fast - I was only able to get early morning ones (7:30-ish out of both Madison (going) and Santa Ana (returning)), or have awful connections (40 minutes? No thanks). So I jumped on the 7:30 ones. Ugh...but better than 6:00. Plus everything else (with better times) was pretty pricey -- more than I wanted to pay. Cheapest flights out of O'Hare were $410 this morning, and once you factor in the round trip bus ticket between here and ORD, I wouldn't be saving much at all.
hopefully there will be others with early morning flights out of SNA so we can share cab rides! Otherwise, there's always Uber!
