What's on your photo Friday menu?

Good mornin everyone! Yay! We made it to Friday!

I got great news yesterday at the eye specialist. My eyes had no bleeds and only a tiny tiny bit of swelling in the left eye...so minuscule that I do t have to go back for six months! After sitting for nearly 3 hours I was esp happy to hear that bit.

We've got a lot planned today. Sam's and I forget what else my mom has planned lol. I'm trying to be in a better mood. The new pain med is doing an ok job...I think it need to be upped a bit but that goes with the territory of trying something new.

Mona did fabulously at the vet clinic. So proud of her!

QOTD: what's on deck this weekend?

I am hoping absolutely NOTHING!

B: Oatmeal and decaf coffee

L: ???

D: ???

S: 1 tbs PB, ???

Yay Friday! Finally!!

Melody, great news on the eye front and that your pain medication seems to be working.

I have one big project to finish for the week and a handful of meetings today so it won't be too bad, because of some scheduling issues I ended up with both an unusually early meeting and an unusually late one so that's not ideal on friday but it happens.

QOTD - Sunday is the Oscars so have my regular party with my friends; this will be the worst year ever in the 20+ years in terms of my having seen all the best picture nominees (which is always my goal). I have seen 2 and about 20 minutes of a third. The one I gave up on "The Power of the Dog" seems to be the front runner. I might also go see my dad tomorrow.

Accountability - forgot I had left of gyros, pita and "feisty feta" -- cold feta with peppers that was tasty but not all the feisty so had that for dinner.

menu today:

coffee plus half and half X2

PB toast made with banana bread

small glass mixed choc and skim fair life

left over gyros

protein hot chocolate if needed

I'm going overboard with my pix for photo friday but it's been a big week:-)taking a break with my friend during the snowshoe (I am wearing two jackets and two sweaters in this picture because I was freezing!)

these two are at a place called Spert Island where we did what I call white water zodiacing! They are a series of jagged volcanic protrusions with channels all through them where you can take the zodiacs but not all of them go through, not all of them have enough clearance and there are many "stuck" icebergs that came in but can't get out -- the currents are pretty dramatic. The water was so blue, the ice so crisp and the black of the rocks....it was a feast for the eyes! There was one tunnel that we were going to try to zodiac through until we realized the random flashes we were seeing were giant ice spikes falling from the roof of the tunnel....it would have been a bit too much of an adventure to have one of those come through the zodiac (or the people in the zodiac).

New hair do!

Have a fantastic friday and great weekend everyone!

Mornin' All!

I was up at 4:00 this morning - I decided to just stay up since I have a vet appt for one of the cats at 8:30, I want to exercise and shower beforehand, and I have a lot of stuff to do before I head down to Chicagoland around noon. I'm staying overnight with a cousin, and then we're meeting up with another cousin tomorrow morning. Not sure what, if anything, is up for tomorrow afternoon, but if they're ready to go their separate ways, I'll head over to Glenview to visit my friend who moved down there last month - maybe have dinner with her and then head back home. I also want to go to Patel Brothers (an enormous Indian grocery store that has branches in different cities around the country - but unfortunately, nowhere in Wisconsin). We do have a couple of Indian grocers in Madison, but they're small and don't have nearly the inventory that Patel Brothers does. So I'm excited to go there. And excited to go on an overnight trip for the first time in two years!!!

QOTD: just the Chicago trip. I won't be home until late Saturday. No plans yet for Sunday.

B: protein shake

MS: Greek yogurt topped with diced mango

L: cottage cheese?

AS: I'm taking a protein bar or two with me, so that if needed

D: no idea. I'm guessing my cousin will want to go out somewhere

have a great day, all!

Enjoy your trip to Chicagoland. I have heard great things about Patel Bros except for the fact that it gets crowded. Also, there's a huge Korean grocery not too far from Patel Bros called H-Mart in Morton Grove off Civic Center Dr iirc. They have a good selection of fish both live and raw. Although, the thing I really liked them for, crazy snacks, doesn't fit eating well post surgery.
