What's on your Tuesday menu?
on 3/22/22 3:05 am - Amarillo, TX
Mornin everyone! Hope this Tuesday finds you doing well!
we got 3+ inches of snow last evening and more since midnight. Our power has been blinking off and on for a few hours now. A city near us had a gust over 85mph. Insane! We're officially under a blizzard warning due to winds. All the weathermen said that it wouldn't stick since we're so warm(32 right now) but it sure has! We got over an inch of rain yesterday too with hail. I swear our weather has some mental issues...LOL
I've been thinking a lot about my obsession with dieting and such. I need to retire my head away from the all or nothing! It's absolutely setting myself up for failure. Soooo I am going to stop counting every little nutrient and calorie. I'll keep a paper journal of what I eat in a general sense...I will measure but not count. It really sets me up for failure in my head.
Not much planned today, might clean a bit and do some laundry. We'll be staying home because the winds are supposed to be sustained around 40+mph. I hate spring for this reason, it's our windiest season and we're always windy.
I found a killer deal on yarn yesterday at the thrift store. Found about 10 of those baby cakes that are brand new for about 21 dollars total. Can you even believe that? I wish I could of gotten the rest but I had to show restraint. They had lots and lost of lovely yarns!
QOTD: what's your favorite activity that you do when you have a down time day? Like nothing else to do, at home day.
Mine would have to be chainmaille of course and listening to music loudly!

L: hamburger stew
D: leftover soup most likely
S: baked oatmeal square and ???
thought y'all would like this picture. It's a selfie that I look like garbage but Mona was so happy, she climbed up onto my lap and had just licked my chin seconds before the photo was taken! We take her Thursday to get her vaccinations, we've decided to go ahead and wait until July to get her fixed unless an earlier time opens up.

Good morning everybody!
its 6:30 and I am parked outside the Dermatologist office awaiting my 7:00 PDT treatment. I got home from the airport at about 10:30 last night, so I am tired.
we had a great weekend, dinner Saturday went fishing on Saturday and checked out a park in Boulder yesterday. It was so good to see my son.
I completely don't understand what he is talking about when he discusses his engineering schoolwork. I guess that's part of seeing them grow up.

QOTD: Reading or online shopping. Reading is much cheaper.
Melody, Mona sure loves her new home, you can see it on her face. I once had an english setter, who at 85 pounds wanted to be a lap dog. He would lay up on me like Mona did.
Today would be one of those lazy days, but an electrician is coming to resolve a bunch of small electrical problems that need doing. One is to install some GFI, this house has none since it is an older home. And a bunch of outlets aren't working. I need to tackle some old paperwork to resolve an aunts estate, I keep getting derailed with it as it's Canadian and so many affidavits etc. that I need to have a Medallion Certifications for and my Bank just changed hands again, so gotta start over with that. It is not a huge amount of money, but enough that my sister and I can take a couple of really fun adventures. Thinking Ireland and New Zealand, not at the same time. Maybe the South Pacific as well.
Menu: No clue. Have to go to the store. Just some eggs and salad material in the house. Other than canned goods of course. There are 2 Florida lobsters in the freezer. Okay, then that. I can put off going to the store now. LOL
Good morning Melody and Menu folks. I hope you are all doing well. Still no closing update regarding the sale of our company, this deal is taking longer as we are employee owned, I have heard our Lawyer/Trustee is very thorough and is ensuring a continuity for the employees. Tomorrow I will sit down with the new investors, while we have met, we will discuss the deal and expectations tomorrow. It is not an interview, I am being told they want to ensure that key employees are informed and that key employees are valuable and will be told that. Hoping a bonus??? haha
Health wise I am doing fabulous, had my yearly physical on March 9, I have lost 10 pounds since a September visit and have lost 8.2 lbs according to my scale at home. Will take measurements at the end of this month. Clothes are loose and no overhang...LOL. Bloodwork was good.
We are flying out on 03/31 for a full 2 week vacation, Mom and Dads for a couple of days, Cruise from 04/02-04/09 , Disney on 04/10 and then Mom and Dads until the 14th. Ready to get away.
Have a great day everyone.
