I don't know if this is your situation or not, but my liver enzymes were also way high the first year post-op. My PCP thought I had "fatty liver", but then I read some peer-reviewed articles that having high liver enzymes the first year or so after bariatric surgery is pretty common. It's because losing weight is hard on livers - and we tend to lose a lot of it really quickly. Anyway, I went back a few months later and told my PCP that. She rechecked them, and they were normal again. This was probably at about 18 or 20 months out. So maybe???

I hope that is all it is. I have had multiple scans since surgery showing gallbladder sludge with no liver abnormalities. Another scan this Thursday.
