LOL! Fishing here is a frozen lake with 20+ inches of ice which you auger a hole through. Then stand at the hole with a spear and get that 5-6' Sturgeon!! The sunny and warm lake seems much nicer. I've done the ice fishing thing enough. When's the fish fry? Are we all invited??

Looks like a lake, but it's ocean water and islands.

Happy Tuesday,

Today I have a spa treatment. DH bought me a body exfoliation, mud application, and 1 hour massage at a local spa. I have that tonight after work. This means no workout tonight since it will leave me too relaxed! Yesterday I did shake up my workout. I did a 30 min HIIT workout I found on Youtube and I am a little sore today. Lots of squats and lower body exercises. I eliminated the treadmill walk in its place. I did keep my yoga but I am trying to find one that is a little more active/intense to increase my effort.

QOTD: I do like the Reacher tv show remake, better then the movie. I haven't read the books. I agree that most books to movies dont transition well. What I have seen of the Outlander TV series, they have done a good job but it has been quite awhile since I read the first books.

QOTD- I don't like remakes at all. I love reading so the movies never live up to the books. The Shining was one of my favorites and the movie was definitely less scary than the book. But I waited years to see the movie. I was hoping the topiary animals would be in the movie, but I guess they couldn't do it back then. With all the CGI I'm sure they could now, but honestly it is impossible to make a 300 page book into a 2 hour movie.

I've decided to move back to the mainland. I have quite a few things to do before I can put the condo on the market, but I'm planning on being gone by mid-April. I have to get another health certificate for Sammy within 14 days of flying out, and need to arrange for my car to be shipped back. I have my movers and found a carpet cleaner, and someone to clean my condo for the photo shoot. I was going to wait until I had moved my things out, but my hairdresser told me that there are so few condos for sale that I shouldn't worry about having my things in it. They will buy it no matter what. I will clear off most surfaces and rearrange my closet so I can put some packed boxes in there. I am so ready to go home. I've been here 6 months, I mostly love the weather but hate where I'm living. I hate the high cost of living, the lack of variety of stores and theaters etc... Basically the reality of living on a remote island is much different than the fantasy. I absolutely regret giving up my horse, but there is no going back.

I'm going to stay with my roommate until I find a house. I'm going to have my things moved to the mainland and put in storage until I move, or depending on how long it takes I may be able to have them delivered to my new place. It's all up in the air until I have firm dates. My realtor says it could be up to 90 days to get my cash, she has no concerns that it will sell. Usually they sell within a week, there is no inventory here. Then I have to find a place in Oregon and that may take a while.

I have no regrets that I came here. I had to at least try it out. I could have been smarter about it, but hindsight is always 20/20. Be careful what you wish for.

I'm hoping to attend the OH Conference, it will be much easier to do from Oregon and less expensive. I have some time to figure it out.

I am at peace with this decision. Honestly if I could fly home today I would. Yes Oregon will always be my home...

Have a great day everyone!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Julia, I know I can't change your mind about moving back but please don't move back in with your old roommate. You are going back to what you know although while you were in it you weren't happy. Please get a place of your own, even an Airbnb until you find a permanent place. Please don't move in with your roommate.

This needs to become part of my morning routine. I have missed a few days again and I need the accountability and connection.

Today is my low-vision support group. My H is going for the first time after I finally got him to see that things will continue to change as my vision worsens. Blind in the left eye and the other losing what I do have. Anyway, another friend is going to be there just to support another friend of hers. Such a good person! Then going to a movie (Death on the Nile).

QOTD: Wow, I have several. I love both The Shining and The Stand and think they did a pretty good job bringing them both to the screen. I read that Stephen King hated Stanley Kubricks' version and thus helped bring another version to TV, but I thought the original captured the suspense and the horror of isolation as your spouse slowly lost his mind. My all-time favorite, though, is Gone With the Wind. Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable.

B: 2 oz sausage, 1 oz cheese

L: 4 ounces chicken tossed in Waldenbrook sf honey mustard dressing.

Sn: Mocha latte made with ½ cup 2% milk, cocoa, and sf almond and sf English toffee syrups (homemade)

S: Might eat out for Fat Tuesday. Probably seafood or else the topping off pizza for me.

Happy fat Tuesday everyone!
