What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Hello & Happy Taco Tuesday! Hope you all survived Monday. Mine was okay in the sense that left work after 10 hours and decided I was done. I left my computer at work, came home and didn't do anything work related after 5pm. I am going to try to do that more often for my sanity.

Can you all believe it is March 1? We are heading into the 2nd year since we locked down for the first time and I am weirdly nostalgic for the days of staying home and learning Spanish and baking bread and avoiding people, lol. I mean, sooooo happy I get to go shopping and have a hair cut, and eventually travel again, but I also wouldn't mind a little quiet time again. I need to be more thoughtful about how to incorporate that quiet time into my life without a government mandate, haha.

QOTD: What is your favorite remake of something (book to movie, remade movie, remade tv show, etc)? I watched the new West Side Story this weekend and I was disappointed..no reason to mess with a classic! So I guess I have to say that I think the Harry Potter series was a great retelling of the books in movie form. No complaints there... and I am really enjoying the new Wonder Years remake! I am cautiously optimistic about the new Fresh Prince of Bel Air remake. Has anyone seen that yet?

The overnight oats I made this weekend were very good and very filling. I didn't eat much after that all day until I got home!

Good mornin everyone!

Not much planned for the day. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist mid morning. I need some changes and I hope she's receptive to it. I was able to but a loaf of lemon pound cake and a loaf of bread for 100$. Pricey yes but they were "free" and you had the choice to make a donation of your choosing. I don't really have a lot of money but my mom and me both donated 50 dollars. I can't even have the stuff but that's ok. I might buy some baking things to donate to the bakery too so they can continue their work for Ukraine.

I have a friend(and frequent client) who's family is from Ukraine and Poland. Her day's headstone somewhere in the NE was knocked over by some jackwagon along with a lot of headstones of people who's name just sounded Ukrainian. I don't get how anyone can think what Russia is doing is ok or commendable.

We're going to call around to see if how much it'll be to get Mona spayed sooner. This in heat thing is just lasting longer than we'd like. The doggie diapers we found work but it's not easy to get on her and we both have back issues. We'll see how much the cost is. The clinic we want to use won't be able to do it until July...it's a lot less costly but that's 4 months!

QOTD: the one I don't like it the Hobbit when compared it's the book. They took a relatively short book that'd be hard to fill a regular movie and changed it soooo drastically. If I didn't know the book it wouldn't bug me. It's not a bad movie but I was set on the book long before the movie was made. In the same vein I love the extended cut LOtR movies! It could have better interpretations from the book but it's actually really good. Long yes, but so good. I'm just a freaking Tolkien nerd LOL

I am really exhausted this morning and in a lot of pain...I haven't got a clue what food will be today. I Got a new cook book recommended by my bariatric NP. We'll go grocery shopping this afternoon and I'm going to get stuff to make some recipes. It's a 5 ingredient bariatric cookbook. There is some yogurt smoothies I'll be trying and I'm going to make some chia raspberry jam.

B: JUST egg cup and coffee x2

L: Likely a PP shake

D: this is where the unknown comes in.

S: L&F yogurt, GF toast with raspberry chia jam...

Chia jam is my jam! Also, I would be happy to send a little $ to help get Mona on her way to being spayed, if you have a Venmo, PayPal, or cashapp? I love dogs as you know and you've saved her and given her a home. I get paid Thursday!

You're a beautiful hooman Mel!

Have you checked with your local humane society about spaying? Some of them have reduced costs.

Melody I understand the heats that Mona go through are a pain in the butt, but any good vet will wait a few weeks until after the heat is over. It is safer for the female. Of course getting her in before July would be great. Do you know if she has ever had puppies before? What state are you in?
