I had surgery in 2007. My husband was military and we moved 3 months after surgery unexpectedly. All I had was the diet the Dr gave me and have only been followed by a primary card Doctor. How can I get back on track and even find out if my pouch has stretched or a diet process to shrink my pouch. Please help me.

I would find a bariatric practice in your area and have them do a complete work up. Most do not stretch out there pouch they learn how to eat around it by Grazing and eating slider foods. You need to track your calorie intake try to stay around 1200 or lower and get into an exercise routine.

I guess it depends on where you are. Are you taking your vitamins? Are you at goal? We're you ever?

bu getting "on track" what are you looking to achieve

if you're no longer tracking your food intake, I would start there. Figure out the calorie range you're eating in now - that's going to be different for everyone depending on BMI, activity level, etc. It may take two or three weeks of logging to figure out your current range. If you want to lose weight, then after that initial period, try dropping about 100 calories a day. Do that for a couple more weeks. If nothing's happening, drop by another 100. Rinse and repeat until you find the spot where you start losing weight again.

I'll lose if I'm at or under 1500-ish calories. Some people have to eat fewer than that - and a few lucky ones can eat more. So it's helpful to have an idea of what your maintenance range is, and at what point you'll start losing.

I had surgery in 2007. The first two and a half years was easy and I thought that I was cured of obesity. But that ends and regain begins. The only way I keep weight off if by eating less than I burn. My goal is 136. I maintain at 1400 calories a day and drop to 900 calories a day to lose one pound per week. During the years, I have regained 10, 20 and once 30 pounds. I lose it by going to Weigh****chers, weighing every day, exercising and tracking my food. I am at 146 and plan to be at least at 142 by summer.

Pouch size does not really matter. The only thing that counts is calories. I have almost no hunger ever. I do restrict flour, sugar, rice, potatoes, cereal, baked goods, breads, pasta, noodles, and fruit. I eat meat and vegetables and drink a lot of water.
