What's on your Thursday Menu?
My FIL gave DD a 1989 Ford F150. When we went to Montana for FIL's bday we had planned on taking it home. However, it was misfiring (maybe old gas). DH asked me to take it for an oil change before leaving town. Unfortunately, the oil place messed up the screw to the oil pan so that the oil leaked out (in a stream). They did try to fix it but were unable to so it requires a new oil pan to be installed. The truck is waiting for the repair and will also have a tune-up. DD is excited to have this old truck so hoping they can get it running well again.

Today DH traded in his 2013 Ford 150 with 47000 miles (excellent condition not even a ding) on a used 2020 Nisan Altima 24,000 mile with 2 owners He paid a trade and $5000 I am sick about it.

Six weeks after my triple bypass heart surgery, the doctor told me that I was cleared for any exercise. He asked if I had any questions, and I said, "When I go to amusement parks, there is a sign on the roller coaster that says not to ride if you have heart problems"
He asked if I was serious. He looked like he did not believe that this little 68-year-old woman really was asking about riding roller coasters. When I assured him that I loved to ride roller coasters, he said that he had fixed my heart problem and I could ride all the roller coasters that I wanted.

Mornin' All!
I had the best massage I've ever had in my life yesterday afternoon. I'm still in a massage coma this morning. I just feel so wonderful I don't want to do anything (like...unfortunately...exercise) since I want to linger in this as long as I can! Of course I'm trying to sign up for another one! According to her Web site, she's not taking new clients. I didn't see her Web site before I scheduled the one yesterday - I just contacted her after meeting her at a luncheon, and she took me in. Hopefully it wasn't just that she had a slow week - I'd love to be one of her regular clients!
it's flurry-ing right now, and we're supposed to get a lot more snow over night - up to 3". So I'll make a grocery store run sometime today. I also have to run the Zoom software for a lecture this afternoon. But...that's it. Otherwise, I'm trying to finish a book since it was due yesterday - and I may work on my state tax return tonight.
QOTD: I haven't been on one since high school - although I LOVED them when I was a kid! I might do one again to see if the thrill is still there (that is, if I ever have the opportunity).
B: plain skyr with 1/2 cooked, diced apple. Coffee with half & half.
MS: either a protein shake or iced latte made with Fairlife and SF syrup
L: 1/2 C protein oatmeal topped with 1 T tahini and a thing of L&F creme brule yogurt
AS: protein muffin
D: they had those Alphafoods chik'n patties at Costco when I went yesterday (I've been waiting forever for them to stock those again! We loved them!), so I may have one of those on a slim bun with some plain Greek yogurt (as a stand-in for mayo) and tomato slices.
QJB: there was an article this morning in a diet/fitness e-newsletter I get about an easy way to cut 300 calories - so of course I jumped on that article. But...major disappointment here - it was to sleep 8+ hours. Yea, right. It's a major victory if I get over seven hours, which happens maybe once a week at most. Next!
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning everybody!
Tonight they will announce the workout for Crossfit Open Event 22.1. Tomorrow night is Friday Night Lights, so I will be doing whatever it is in front of the whole gym. I am really hoping that it is something that I can just cycle through without having to scale. If it's a movement that I am really bad at, having a gym full of people cheering me on is only going to make it harder.
It's restaurant week in our little town. We went out last night to a burger place, and between the burger, the Old Fashioned and two glasses of wine, I was comatose on the couch for about an hour last night. Also, I double dipped Crossfit and my weightlifting coach yesterday so I was sore when I woke up.
I don't know if we are getting the snow that Trish posted about - I'm trying to put it out of my mind.
QOTD: Oh no.
Breakfast: sausage and cottage cheese
Lunch: leftover burger from restaurant week
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

my one cousin who lives in Wheaton (actually, my father's second cousin) always insists on going to Cooper's in Winfield. So I've been there a million times. It's OK, but nothing to write home about. We went to some taco place near the train station once that was pretty good, though - but that was awhile ago. I wish I knew more about Wheaton restaurants, but Sheryl always wants to go to Cooper's. Sigh.
I think that is Coopers Corner, I'be never been there. We actually drove by the other night and noticed how busy it was.

yes - that's it. And it's usually packed. It kind of reminds me of a Wisconsin supper club because the focus seems to be on things like steaks and seafood - but they have things like sandwiches, too. It's fine - but I'd like to try other places. I seem to remember being at some place downtown that was a church or something at one time. I think that was in Wheaton. I'll see if I can find it on the internet.
