I had a bad experience with a tandem parachute jump when I was 67 years old. I had to have surgery on my back to fix the damage from hitting the ground wrong. When I was at the hospital, one of the nurses said, "I drive 3000 miles to avoid getting on an airplane, and you go and jump out of one".

my husband went skydiving once. I freaked out (that he did it). I could never do that. Maybe floating down on a parachute would be OK - but having the plane door open and having to jump out? Never. I'd totally freak out and probably would refuse to do it!

I am scared when they open the plane door and I jump out, but do it anyway. The feeling of floating in the air is fantastic. The orthopedic surgeon told me that I am too old to keep doing that if I continued, we would be seeing a lot more of each other. It was a hard decision, but so far it was my last jump.

Actually parasailing is the same sensation without the danger and a safe way if I want to experience that feeling again.
