Good mornin everyone! Hope you're all having a great day and to those who have today off...yay!

We had a glimmer of good news. Our neighbor was arrested last night on his warrant. Of course they wouldn't search his house but something is better than nothing.

Our new dog is doing really well. We're going to see about getting her fixed tomorrow. I suspect there is a slight waiting list but we will get it done. I think we'll get her chipped since she is an escape artist. She came into the main part of the house yesterday. She, like Franky, is scared of the cats. She didn't go after the neighbors bunnies at all so we didn't expect much reaction. She is really just the sweetest thing. We got a kennel yesterday and we had an extra dog bed to put in it. She didn't go after anything and no one went after her...well except for Percy who just starred at her and scared her by getting close to the kennel.

The funeral is today. I talked one on one with my aunt last evening. She is ready for this to be done with. She needs some time alone to grieve. Like me she doesn't like crying in front of people. She has cried but not a decent one. She told me she just needs to be alone for a little while. Her kids are kind of hovering over her...they mean so well but she just needs to sit with her grief she said. Her son leaves for San Diego tomorrow as he has duty Wednesday. I hate funerals but at least this part is closed casket. He was a wood worker and they chose a lovely wood casket he would of admired but thought they spent to much money on.

Thank you! She is doing well. She's still in heat but she'll come in the house today due to it being so cold!

I am glad that the funeral will be over. I agree that she needs time alone to grieve. Caskets are such a big expense. All funeral costs are. I hope everyone is able to get through this today and put it behind them. I highly recommend grief counselling for the widow. Take care of yourself and all your fur babies.

I think my aunt mentioned it was around 11,000 but there was a 10% discount for him being a veteran. When I die I don't want a funeral...I want to be cremated and if my family feels the need they can have a small get together. I know funerals are necessary for a lot of people but for me...I just don't want one!

thanks!

I wonder if that money could have been put to better use. When my father died, I as with my mom and sister picking out a coffin. My sister got worried that the one I picked would make him uncomfortable because his shoulders were so wide. The funeral director was looking up a price for an extra wide.

I had to put them both out in the hall and finish making arrangements myself. I have some great stories about cremation and memorial services that I will post one of these days.
