What's on your Sunday menu?

Good mornin everyone!
Yesterday my aunt wanted us to go to the funeral home because my uncle was ready to view. I hate all parts of the death things but this was particularly hard. You could tell that he had some issues with his liver as his tone was really yellow-i****'s so hard to believe he is gone. It seems there are types you think will live forever, even though you know that's not possible...somehow when they do die it's extremely jarring. My grandpa and him are those types to me. Tough and resilient and it's hard to accept that they are actually gone. Just a hard day.
Today we have to go pick up a few papers for obits. We might go to Walmart but I doubt it. My food has been utterly CRAP. I'm embarrassed and disappointed in myself. I have failed my tool and I'm overall a failure at life.
QOTD: do you study or do mindfulness techniques?
I used to but need to get back to it. I like the counted breathes. In slowly for about 5 to 8 seconds and out for ten. It helps my mind reset to not overthink...sometimes. Sometimes my mind is just a cluster bomb...LOL

Those kind of people leave their mark on your mind and you never really forget them. Just get through this time and don't worry about food. There will be better days and healthy eating will be effortless. It helps me to set a timer to remind me to just take a minute to breathe and let tension and anxiety fade away.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I never liked viewings and usually try to avoid going over to the casket when I'm at wakes (which is the only time I've actually seen someone dead - I've never seen anyone BEFORE the service since everyone in my family was cremated - and they usually just allow family members to see the body outside of the wake/funeral/service). I want to remember the person as they looked when they were alive. A couple of times I've been unable to avoid it, though. Luckily when my best friend from high school died a couple of years ago, she looked NOTHING like herself (she had cancer and was all swollen up from prednisone, and they had a wig on her because she'd lost all her hair). I think I would have been really freaked out if she'd looked like her old self. If anyone has my body available for a viewing (which I doubt since i want to be cremated), I swear I'll come back and haunt them!!! (and yes - my family knows this. NO VIEWINGS!)
so anyway, on to normal things. It's supposed to be up around 50 degrees F today, so I absolutely need to get outside! What a treat! I have a couple of errands to run and we're getting our hair cut today (she cuts my husband's while the color is setting in mine. We've gone to her for 30 years, and she runs her own shop - so she doesn't charge us for his cut since she's doing it while I'm under the dryer for 20 minutes (or whatever) anyway!). It's supposed to get cold again this week - so we'll be back to winter again soon. Boo.
QOTD: I was in a mindfulness study five years ago. It went on for six months. We were supposed to meditate or do gentle yoga at least six days a week, and we did three sleep studies and MRI's during the six months of the study (at the beginning, at the halfway point, and at the end) to see if our brain waves had changed. They also had us do some activities on the computer where they analyzed our speed and accuracy (I don't know about my brain waves in particular since we didn't get our individual results, just the general results (and yes - there was improvement) - but I do feel like my speed and accuracy doing those puzzles on the computer improved). So I do know that it seems to "work" for a lot of people, but unfortunately, I didn't keep up with it after the study ended.
B: skyr with 1/2 cooked, diced apple, Coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: turkey chili
AS: protein muffin
D: 1/2 an Impossible Burger on 1/2 a slim bun. Either (non-starchy) vegetables or maybe a sweet potato (the latter only if I have enough calories left over)
have a great Sunday, everyone!
Give yourself time to grieve and heal. It will get better. My uncle past away last January and then in July my aunt passed. It was a tough year for my mom. I'm sorry for your loss.
QOTD: Oh yes! I was in outpatient rehab that taught me loads about how to be mindful to myself. I love the saying "what would you say to a friend in the same situation as you" then turn that around and use that advice on yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself or don't beat yourself up about things.
B: chai latte
L: crab Alfredo with cauliflower
Snack: yogurt
S: soup with mixed vegetables
Snack: yogurt
I'm sorry for your and your family's loss. Saying goodbye can be difficult no matter what the cir****tances.
My Sunday food is:
B: 1 egg + 1 egg white with 1 TBL milk
1/2 tsp butter (for the pan)
1/3 small orange
1 scoop collagen protein
L.: 3 oz shrimp
1/2 cup greens
1-1/2 tsp caesar salad dressing, lite
S: 3-4 oz meatloaf (depends on how my pouch is acting)
1/4 cup greens
1TBL low cal honey mustard dressing (1 cal)
SN: 1/2 protein shake
Having hit a year, I've decided to post my meal plan for each day here for the accountability factor. There were a couple photos I wanted to post (before and now) but haven't been able to figure out how. Anyone have the answers on that? Thanks!

re: posting photos - It might depend on if you're on a phone or a regular computer. I just use my laptop, so if you're on a phone, it might be different. But on a regular computer, there's a plus sign up in the top right corner of your screen. You click on that and then select "Upload Photo" from the dropdown menu to upload a photo from your desktop to your ObesityHelp account.
Then if/when you want to add the photo to one of your posts, you click on "Add Photo" in the upper left hand side of the "Reply Message" window (it's on that bar the goes across the top of the "Reply Message" window - the bar that also has the font name and size, bold button, etc). When you click on "Add Photo", it will display all the photos you've uploaded to OH - so you just select the one you want on your post.

I do such exercise when I can't study anymore. It helps me to focus on things. It would help if you felt good psychically and mentally when you needed to do many things in one night. OF course, I often use this source with educational papers help because I don't want to overstress myself. On such hard days, I may also think I'm a failure in life. But then I remember the words of my psychologist to keep breathing and do what you need to do.
