Humpty!

I'm not a perfect parent. Occasionally, when distracted, I will call my kid's by each other's names. Sometimes I go out for a snack by myself and leave them to fend for themselves because I need a little solitude. And its possible that after a few glasses of wine, I put three bratwursts into a 2 gallon freezer bag and asked the kids the next day why they used such a large bag to store such a small amount of food.

So, when I see worse parenting, it always makes me feel good about my own feeble efforts.

Enter Miss (going out on a limb with that guess) Tracy Kiss of London England.

It seems that Miss Kiss has been making the rounds of social media, alongside her 14 year old daughter, showing off her brand new tattoo.

Now, before we go any further, let me stipulate that I have no desire to wade into the tattoo culture wars. I am completely agnostic about that subject. So please hold off on the "tattoos are beautiful you uptight non-cat owning midwesterner" thoughts and just trust me that this discussion is going in a somewhat different direction.

Ms. Kiss' new tattoo is a series of dots and diamonds stretching from her pinky tip to elbow, spaced exactly one inch apart. Essentially a yardstick. She describes it as a "practical device to enhance my life."

Initially, the younger Miss Kiss formed the impression that Mom imprinted this device onto her forearm in order to measure fruits and vegetables at the supermarket. Some may have said that it would be best to leave the younger Kiss to those happy thoughts of abundant produce. But not Tracy.

Being 2022, the elder Miss Kiss took to the internet to point out that her daughter was wrong and the use of the device was to size up her lovers by a discrete comparison during foreplay. And for reasons still unclear to me, she chose her daughter to accompany her on this post. The young Kiss looks somewhat like Billy Elish. The elder Kiss looks like you think she does.

The sheer length of the pinky to elbow scale will no doubt lead to a childhood of horror/lifetime of disappointment for young Miss Kiss.

And I guess that Ms. Kiss' interest in the actual yardage must be a purely statistical/record keeping matter, because by the time an accurate measurement can be taken, hasn't she have already committed to a path forwards?

The elder Ms. Kiss reports that she is so happy with her new device that she is considering tattooing a matching scale on the inside of her thumb and index finger in order to measure girth. The younger Miss Kiss did not disclose her future plans.

QOTD: I will say vinyl records.

Breakfast: omlette

Have a great day, all!

Good morning. Missed you all yesterday. Had my own drama day. Opened my work building in the pitch dark pre six am morning and stepped into two inches of water. We blew a water heater, and the entire building was flooded. We have 5,000 sq feet of ware house that had product and orders all over the floors (a gazillion things on pallets and racking, but still, a ton directly on the floor. I stopped for one minute, and called everyone on the warehouse team and got them out of bed, and then threw open the warehouse doors and started hauling stuff out. A) I'm to old for this. B) I am not anywhere strong enough for this anymore C) A and B did not stop me and D) I can barely move my body today. TMI, but putting on fresh undies today was quite the challenge. But what a team I have! Everybody showed up and and helped (except two) and by 10 am I was able to get to my desk and start working. 95 emails and hours 4 behind schedule, but we made it happen. Oh my aching back. Oh and I added wine again last night. I ate very little, but did have 6 ounces of wine.

Today already is a great day! The floors were dry when I opened the door. I have a phone appt with my WLS doctor today. I think these mid year ones are just a money grab at this point. It's a waste of time -- not much accomplished. I am hoping she'll move me to just once a year going forward for labs and such.

QoTD: Easy one for me. Wine, Cheese and bakery. My son would curate the wines, my daughter would take care of the bakery and my husband and I would be in charge of the cheese and accoutrements.

Menu:

B: 3 oz smoked pork, 1/3 c cottage cheese

L: left over chicken fajitas, all veggie and meat, no tortillas

D: roasted parm chicken, with roasted red bell pepper and broccoli

Peace Everybody!

ugh - what a mess! I'm sorry that happened - but glad it got cleaned up so quickly!

also - as for visits to the bariatric clinic - I had to go every three months for the first year, but after that, it was just once a year.
