I love clothes and shoe shopping now that I have lost weight. It is so fun to have most everything fit and it just being a matter of style preferences.

My grandmother told me about living in a tenement in Brooklyn, New York in the 1920's. There was one bathroom shared by the apartments on each floor. In the morning the men did not want to wait in line to go to the bathroom, so they peed into the kitchen sink. She always told that story when someone talked about the good old days.

G'morning all!

QJB - at the end it turned out OK and everybody is happy, right? I know you put them on edge for 4 weeks, but hey we all have to learn from our mistakes. I'm sure in the future you will double and triple check yourself on your policies.

A couple of things worthy of mentioning that I learned during the weekend :

Digital nomads - on various lifts you get to talk to people and my husband, the talkative one, always asks people where they are from. We heard "nomads" a couple of times so I finally asked what it means. People in their mid 20s to mid 30s (no kids) who are in high-tech and with Covid and remote working decided to take advantage of the situation. They rent an Airbnb and stay in a place for about three months then move on to the next place. One guy was chasing the snow all over US. Another one skiing/snowboarding during winter and going to South America during the warmer months to learn how to surf. Aaah, to be young and free.

Coffee addiction - on a normal day I drink coffee/tea every couple of hours. It has become a habit after WLS. While skiing I would have two cups of coffee with my breakfast and then I didn't have access to coffee till the next day. It's not that I had withdrawals or headaches, I was too high on the excitement, but at the end of the day I didn't really want food...I wanted coffee. I missed my routine of having access to it constantly. And I don't think those little caffeine thingys that they sell would be the same. I like the ritual of having a hot mug in my hands.

QOTD: hmmm, I love the 50s and 60s and the joie de vivre after WWII. But I am curious to see what we are gonna make out of ourselves in the next 100 years. I sure hope we can fix the climate disaster we are creating in the present, and get rid of unsavory characters in the government. So I guess I wanna see the future and I'm hoping we as human beings are not as selfish and thick headed in 100 years.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Chomp stick + protein puff
  • Pure protein bar, hot cocoa
  • Mex cauli rice + scrambled eggs
  • E: Rest day

Happy taco tue.

I would love to be a digital nomad. As a nurse, when I was younger, DH and I did travel nursing which was taking temporary nursing jobs in different parts of the US (usually 12 week assignments). It was a great way to live in different areas of the country. If I didn't have kids in high school (or at home) there is great opportunity and money right now with travel nursing. I received a text for $6400/40 hour week to work in a post anesthesia recovery unit in the Pacific Northwest. That is some awesome money!

Good Morning QJB and Menuers,

quick running late but want to post.

Melody sorry about your uncle. QJB, I am sure all will be forgiven and Somewhere along the line it will become a win for you.

Went to Chiropractor and pretty much told me I tore my Supraspinatus Muscle. May need surgery but he does not think it is tearing all the way through so may be able to get by with PT. I can't see the orthopedic till the 28th. so until then at least My hair and make-up will be a mess considering the type of pain it causes when I try to do it. Probably not even taking makeup to Florida so I don't even try to do it while and give it a rest.

QOTD: Future. By that time Ihope they have something that will make me magically skinny without having to put in a lot of effort.

Accountability: Not so great either that or the Prednisone and Pain pills are playing with my weight.

I don't know about pain pills (probably depends on what kind), but prednisone is notorious for causing weight gain.

Good morning ~ Yay for not eating your feelings, JB - that is a big deal in my book. Today is much less stressful than yesterday. I have a meeting at 10 then playing catch up for the rest of the day. This week should fly by hopefully. Friday is a holiday and I'm spending it at the spa with my sisters. It's supposed to be in the 80's that day so we will take advantage of the pool all afternoon! Can't wait. I have the Only woman in the room on my list. I just started the Midnight Library - so good!

QOTD - I would love to see the past 100's years and live it all - the good bad and the ugly.

Accountability - I ate a regular fajita size flour tortilla with dinner - I didn't even think about it until I was half way through it?

b-magic spoon cereal w/fairlife

d- eggbeater casserole

d- tri tip and stuffed jalapenos

s- beef jerky

no exercise yet, tired - still finding my mo-jo but I want to feel better, so I will make myself do it tomorrow.

Have a great day!
