Almost 5yrs post-op - what does everyone eat?
Its been a while!
Had my RNY in May 2017.
Had my second daughter August 2019.
Gained about 10lbs from my lowest weight and pretty much haven't budged. I would love to lose about 10lbs. I started tracking my food again but realized I have no clue what a "diet" looks like now at this point in my journey. Aside from some old habits creeping back in (mainly snacking and I am on top of this). I calculated my macros, but I am not sure if its "too much" food.
Can someone share how they eat at this point? I am really good with high protein. I think I need to cut carbs a bit. I also workout and run after two young kids and work 2 jobs. I find myself feeling pretty hungry these days.
Thank you!

I will be 4 years out later this month; I try to stay around 1000 calories a day; low ish carb (under 50g a day); sugar free, no sugar added versions of most things and other than that I pretty much eat whatever I want. I still focus on my programs protein and hydration goals; they did not give me a calorie or carb goal, I set those mYself.
there?s a pretty big variety within the regular posters here on calorie/carb/protein goals so you might try a few approaches to see what works for you

Thanks for sharing. I did look at the menu discussions and can't believe some people eat so little still. I'd be starving! My training is fairly intense and intensifies in the warmer weather as I walk about 5-10km a day and strength train. But I am going to focus on lowering my carb intake and play around with my macros a bit.

Join the RNY daily menu posts and look what others eat to lose weight.
I'm almost 14 years post op.
For me to lose weight now I need to stay really low carb, and limit calories. Yes, both.
I need to avoid "dirty keto" items. Just because things are named "keto" or have theoretically low net carbs, I can't relay on that.

Hi there,
where can I find the rny daily menu? I have been away from this forum a few years and can't seem to navigate it as I once could.
Thanks in advance
Annette

I am going on 15 years. To maintain 136 pounds, I have to stay at under 1400 calories a day. I eat a lot of veggies like broccoli, spinach, brussels sprouts, lettuce, salads. i eat lean meats, cheeses, and fish. Very little potatoes, pasta, rice, cereal, sugar, or flour. I do eat about two slices of whole wheat bread a day. I eat less high protein and more fiber than at first. Also very little fruit. Fruit is high in sugar and makes me hungry.
After the first few years, maintaining my weight loss became a matter of counting calories and exercise just like before surgery. Women need about 10 calories a day to maintain one pound, men about 12. Multiply your desired weight by 10 to see how many calories you can eat to stay at that weight.
