I'm actually a bit relieved that my mom decided to give up driving, because it started to get scary riding in a car with her at the wheel. My sister and I realized that we'd need to have "the conversation" with her soon - but then she decided on her own that she probably shouldn't be driving anymore. Whew! But as to your other point, she lives in a senior living complex (independent living only), but they do have someone on staff who can (and will) drive people to medical appts as long as he gets a week's notice. I'm not sure why she doesn't do that - I guess she doesn't want to "bother" him, but that's part of his job - and she's definitely "bothering" my sister and me by wanting us to drive her everywhere, but I guess she doesn't see it that way. I think we're going to have a conversation with her - or just tell her we're busy when she has some of these appts so that she'll have to get on this guy's list. Maybe a few times it won't bother her to contact him in the future when she needs a ride somewhere. One can hope.

My husband was one of the youngest in a big family. His oldest sister was the same age as my mother, so I had to go through that with her at about the same time as my mother. My mother had a service that would drive her to appointments, but she preferred me because the service would not sit in the waiting room and she might have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for them to pick her up. My sister-in-law had a lot of money and was afraid she would get in trouble for using a service that was provided for free. I was still working and explained that I could not just be available for rides whenever they wanted. They both managed to make other arrangements when I was not constantly available.

I here you with the Adi dilemma. I go with a list and still get carried away. I think they position things right in eye view so I buy everything. Plus they continue to stock many low carb , low fat, and low sugar alternative. But what good is that when you tempted to indulge in the whole package in one sitting instead of following the serving size. YIKES!!!!

I never used to shop there, but I started going a couple of years ago when COVID hit. Not sure why - maybe it was less crowded than our regular store? Not sure. At any rate, after awhile I found myself completely hooked on it. Now it's my main grocery store. I only go to other ones if I need something Aldi's doesn't carry.

There was always an Aldi's here but years ago their quality was low. In the last four or five years, they started carrying really good products. Most of the store brand stuff is great. Now their meat, produce, and other selections are wonderful. I used to keep a quarter in the car to have for an Aldi shopping cart. Since COVID you don't have to do that anymore, at least not here. This week mine has petite lobster tails at 13,99 for a pound package. Also great prices on scallops, shrimp, filets, ribeyes, pork tenderloin, and many other products. Their produce is fresh and much lower priced than most other stores.

Chrissy -

have you tried any of the new whipped toppings? They had mocha and peppermint mocha around Christmas. Loved them both. Now they have caramel and strawberry. I tried the caramel and loved it - went back and got four more. Haven't tried the strawberry, but the cashier who rung up all my caramel ones said he got the strawberry the other night and thought it was great.

Oh Nooo why did you tell me. I been sending DH with a list and he follow the assignment. I willie nillie it every time in Aldi. I'm not a mint person but I do have Chocolate and coconut in the fridge now. I NEED the Strawberry! In 1st grade they made a Strawberry Mouse in our catholic school that I still think of today. Maybe this will hit the spot. I'm going to stop after work.

actually, I checked and I'd already "liked" that page! You must have mentioned it before - or someone did - since I probably wouldn't have stumbled across it on my own. It's great!!
