Mornin' All
It's freezing today. UGH. I have an appt with my financial advisor at 10:00 for some reason (this isn't our usual time of year for meeting - I can't remember why we set this up - but he'll know!). Online Mah Jongg at 1:30. I also have to call and make an appt for my mom at the AARP tax assistance clinic - I hope i can get her in somewhere because for some reason, I totally spaced it. Too much going on, I guess. I also just registered for my two classes for this semester - I'm so excited about them!!
QOTD: I'm not a fiction reader, so I hadn't heard of "Midnight Library", but I just read a couple of reviews, and they were great. So I put a hold on it at the public library - 418 holds in the queue! Guess it'll be next summer before I get my hands on it - but that's fine. It'll be a nice surprise. I finished reading my YA book for my book discussion group last night, so I'm back to "The Least of Us", about the fentanyl/meth crises (by Sam Quinones). Very interesting. I read his heroin/Oxycontin crisis book a few years ago and loved it - so interesting.
B: skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: a couple of Kalifornia Keto "energy bites" while en route to the financial appt (or else a RTD protein shake -- haven't decided)
L: maybe a Jimmy Dean's breakfast sandwich (?)
AS: protein muffin
D: carrot soup and maybe 1/2 a veggie burger on 1/2 a slim bun
ex: resistance bands and some type of cardio
have a great day, everyone!!
Good morning, everybody!
When I got to the airport at 12:30 last night, I learned that Uber wanted $179 to drive each tennis lady home last night. So we loaded the car full of ladies and suitcases and tennis rackets and took them home. We got back to our house at about 2:00 AM.
It seems like the lunch at Hells Kitchen yesterday was the highlight of the trip. Beef short Ribs and Risotto were the entrees of choice. And one lady, who wasn't even scheduled to play ended up winning a trophy, because somebody's partner cancelled and he needed a sub.
The next two days are miserably cold here. On Thursday, me and my youngest are going to Birmingham Alabama to tour UAB. We return on Sunday afternoon. its not super warm in Birmingham, but will be much nicer than Chicago, hopefully.
QOTD: I've been reading the Jack Reacher books lately, so not a lot of deep thought. (unless you are trying to figure out how to take down Melody's neighbor). There is a new Jack Reacher series on Amazon debuting February 4. Alan Ritchson is replacing Tom Cruise and looks much more the part. The trailer looks good, if you want to invest two minutes.
Breakfast: omlette
Lunch: Mahi burger and cottage cheese
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!

Much better casting. Reacher is a giant of a man in the books and Cruise is shorter than I am.

That's funny.

I will give the Reacher series a try. I like to watch TV shows while on the treadmill. I finished the Kevin Hart mini-series about a celebrity who murdered a con-artist called "True Story". Also "Clickbait" another miniseries from Netflix, both were good.
